So, I have an idea on how to improve the contest subforum on GTM to make it more fun for users. After seeing F1krazy doing an Inktober, but for bots instead, and calling it Inktober, and then seeing some people doing it, like Sagaris and Superbomb, it inspired me. Orc's first tourney, Orc's Tourney, as well as Primeval's bet for Destruction Evolution 3, where people will be given real life bots to replicate, but allowed to make it original on the same time by giving their own twist, is also an inspiration on my idea, as I like the concept.
So, back to my idea, basically it is adding new contests that involved bot building. As we all know, the contests subforum is only used for BOTM. So, we should add more contests other than BOTM to make people more interested in building. Users will be allowed to start their own contest and set the period when it will run, with a maximum limit of a month, from thread start and entry receiving, to displaying entries and allowing people to vote on it, and then showing who win and giving award to them if the person who runs it want to, like the bot file of the entrants, for example.
Also, before a user can start a contest, it will have a bit similar requirement to tourneys, like users must have time to host it. Contests then must pass through a mod approval first before it can start. When the entry receiving period ends, the user then must make a special voting thread that shows the bots made by users, before showing the winner of the contest after voting period ends. And I also forget, but users can choose what will the contest be like in premise. Will it accommodate any Meta, or just one. And will it have a particular gimmick or not, like being randomly given a real life bot to replicate but giving original twist to it, or to do a bot building prompt. To accommodate the different gimmicks, it will also be allowed to have voting variation. So like Botober contest style for example, will have the builder itself being voted instead of individual bots and their bots displayed on an image hosting site.
And with that, I am going to finish my idea talk. I hope this idea will be considered good and can make contests better. However, you can also help me refine this idea by suggesting something or pointing out whatever flaw I made when typing this.

If you are using the in game multi-player to do your battle, then remember that it's impossible. I think the Gameranger server that hosts RA2 multi-players was already dead, meaning you have to use an outside program to do online play, like Parsec, for example

Parkopino, Reptillum, and Grabite are probably my favorites out of the bunch
Kind of confused how some of these bots are "nature themed" but I'm glad that most of the bots followed the theme, it'll probably lead to some interesting fights
What bots do you think are not nature themed? If one of those is my bot, then I built my bot on a survival of the fittest theme, as the name implies

Opinions Parkopino: Good looking extenderbot. I think it will be able to control and push opponents around, despite it's builder's claim of being somewhat of a jokebot IIRC Reptilium: I think it's based more on the Reptilians conspiracy, but still works as reptile themed bot. It looks pretty strong, especially with the amount of teeth on the drum Fire Ant: Looks like a good looking clamp, with flamethrower to do extra damage Grabite: Another vertical clamp, like my bot. On the other hand, it also looks pretty good, especially with the eyes The Whirligig Bug: Looks generic, but also pretty effective Garter Snake 2 & Dwarf Adder 2: Cool clusterbot by Plerco. I'm also impressed at how it is able to wedge and flip my bot as shown in the intro Velocisaurus: Like that Bombshell style VS, though I also want something a bit more distinguishing from it so it will look better Hammerhead: Another good VS. I like the face extender work in particular Darwinian Predator: My bot. Pretty fast, but I think it's going to lose, because first, the intro showed it can be outwedged, and second, even if I can get under a bot and bite them, unless if I keep getting interrupted when biting, I'm going to die after dominating, before the battle even get close to the last 10 seconds, from running out of battery Mako 4: The most generic bot on the tourney tbh. No distinguishing feature lol I'm a fox: Looks like a good Foxic clone with a twist. I like the wedge in particular Killer Bee 2: A Tombclone, though fits the theme and look a bit good Chewie the Watersnake: A bit bland, especially with the color. I also question how strong the Tornado drums are Dead Lawn: Cool bot from Killer as always. Also pretty strong too JackO: Yet another good VS. But I do question how it will operate when inverted Bite: Looks like Fire Ant, but with some differences, like the plow face

Can I still send updates? It will be a minor one, being the moving of the smartzone on the first configuration of my bot

I did think about adding a logo on there somewhere but it got to the point where th chassis was so protecting with armour panels its wasn't visible anymore.
So it's actually a chassis bot that looks like an extenderbot due to the amount of protective panels? I said that you should try reskinning one of those plates for logo

I'm now going to showcase three DSL-IRL bots I made recently, which are Flipper Time, Fastdrill Gen II, and Darwinian Predator CW. Not ready to post few other IRL bots and DSL-S yet. Extra notes: Flipper Time uses 40kg counterweight on both of it's panels, while Darwinian Predator uses 10kg counterweight on both panels, but for flipper version, it's 30kg on each panel. Also, the specifics on Fastdrill Gen II is a typo, as I forgot to change the name when reusing Flipper Time's splash

After hiding in discord for about 9 months, I thought I would actually start posting my DSL bots here.
I made my first good looking HW flipper today after only making a MW flipper before, (which won something in OWO ). It's called Skeletal and wanted to make a skeleton based bot. The flipper is quite heavy so works more as a lifter but regardless self-rights and is quite quick. Hope you guys like it.
(Image removed from quote.)
Cool flipper. It also looks like an extenderbot, I think, so bonus point. Will be more neat if you also try to reskin a panel by making your new reskinned component to add a name or logo to it

Time to revive this dead topic again Bot dump: Hammerhead, Generic Drum like VS [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] Axe version [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] HYDE, uhh its okay i guess [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] Hyper-Jaw, you guessed the inspirations [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] VS mode (lemme fetch it fast) [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] Some generic Drum spinner [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] Dissapoint [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Cool bots. However, I think it looks like Hyde's teeth will intersect with the control board when spinning, so I think you can remove an ant batt to move the control board to a better location

Cool thing. I'm currently making my new CW for this (and not entering an update to Breaking Hammers, or Darwinian Predator)

I entered a HS shell spinner which is pretty damn good while it has it's shell imo, but when it comes off (which it often does) it becomes a ring spinner with 2 typhoon teeth that hopefully will still be attached. Comes at the price of invertibility, but I may find a way around that before it's too late to update the ai.
Talking about AI, do you know how to make the weapons part of the binding work with Flipper py. I think I entered the correct ID for the weapons I use, but it doesn't work, as the weapon keep firing despite losing the parts specified in the AI. I can PM you the binding through GTM or Discord

I'm going to send my bot tomorrow in my time. Nearly finished, but not yet, and I don't have time to play RA2 today

DSL-S MW Ring Arena RA2CF, OBJRA2, CB2, Hax Mode, AAM, and BFE are all banned Ingame bot lab glitches such as snapper loading and eFFe glitch are allowed, as long as the bot is not designed to take advantage of snapper/servo boosting. Clusterbots allowed Bo3 Badger to host
(Note: This challenge is not for the DSL-S belt, but a regular one)

Is there any ra2.cfg file in the broken copy of your RA2? If not, then it's the problem. You must try to reinstall a new .cfg, by copying one from the RA2 zip that you used to install, or another version of RA2 you have, like DSL or IF

I think you should change Servant's name to Sevalent, which is the correct one

Right, about that: I did that before learning how to add custom components, basically I just reskinned the parts. What that means is if it’s placed in normal DSL folders then the original color will overwrite the color I made them. Basically this is meant to exist in its own DSL version (hence why I included the full game not just bot designs). Depending on if a second Discovery season is greenlit I’ll either do all 2019 bots with custom components or do a full redux pack with the file overwriting not being an issue. Apologies for any issues it may cause, if I have time I may try to do a fix of all custom parts anyway but time is a lot thinner for me now given life commitments
I support the custom components. Because I want more accurate part replication, like making the disc wheels for HUGE white. And also, yeah, the Mech disc being overwritten by the new texture of Valkyrie Disc. It will also be cool if you model and make your own new components for the reps too, though i think that will be exhausting and time consuming, so probably won't be done

Mine is probably any of the Paradox Grand Strategy Games: e.g: Crusader Kings 2, Europa Universalis 4, Hearts Of Iron 4, Victoria 2, etc.
I like those too, as well as Minecraft, Civilizations games, etc
