GG Hop. Honestly like 75% of this challenge was just the mental game of trying to predict what the other person was gonna use. Figured Hop was gonna use a vert so I went for an overhead, but obviously he predicted my prediction(:  :). Once I learned what Hop had entered I fully expected to be straight up unable to hit his bots, which I turned out to be able to, which was neat, but other than that it went pretty much how I expected. Cheers Bild again for hosting this sh**show. I'm sure all the hair you've ripped out will grow back quickly

The astros are a good addition. I had the same experience with the The series when I upgraded them
Yeah they really do contribute a surprising amount of extra speed over just 2 NPC fasts. Still not exactly a rocket but hopefully lives up to its name a little bit more than before

Gorgeous. Been a fan of JL for a while now and this version is definitely an improvement. Manages to look tanky and somewhat sleek at the same time. Top stuff

Wasn't gonna post this here initially because it's really just an iterative improvement to one of my existing bots, and it's pretty similar to the previous bot I posted too, but what the hey. This is Speed Demon VI. Really pleased with how optimised this thing is now. A marginal drive increase over SD V (2NPC fasts + 2 Astros, which actually make a surprising amount of difference), increased chassis armour, a more compact chassis+internals, and fully enclosed wheels are the main changes from the previous version. Features from SDV like the perm 132 powered disc with 4 small typhoons, the steel spinner killer wedge + spinner supports, and the Vsmall VDMA srimech have also been retained. Weight is dead on 800KG now, and I highly doubt I'll ever be able to improve any other element of the bot without making significant sacrifices in other areas.

Problem with driving someone else's bot- they'll try to make it lose by smashing it into hazards. I'd like it if we controlled our own bots, just so it's more competitive and not suicide fighting.
neat idea, though, and I think this tournament's a wonderful idea.
There's been a bunch of PvP tournaments now and nobody has been scummy enough to do this yet. People still wanna win even when it's not their bot just to prove they're a good driver, and because nobody likes losing.

Speed Demon-style Anti HS vert. 4WD TWMRs on this one though (may try to find weight to swap 2 of them to NPC regs at least though) and a wider, drum-ish disc. Extenderbot too rather than a chassisbot like SD. Main drawback is it lacks a srimech, but looks wise I'm reasonably happy.

Probably the best bot you've built so far, but still several issues. You have WAY too many batteries. 2 battlepacks is enough for the motor setup you have here. You can also shrink the chassis down a ton, so it's just barely big enough to fit your internals.

I’m sorry about this, but beginners luck (and a lot of my ra2 stuff) is gonna be postponed because I’m debating just giving up, all of the stuff I make ends up being terrible, and no matter what, I can’t improve at all, and everything is surpassing me. So beginners luck is gonna be postponed and or canceled, or not. But for now. I’m taking a break from ra2. Don’t know how long, but it’s gonna be a break
People learn at different rates. Showcase your stuff, take feedback on board without letting it get you down.

Congrats Prime. Glad to see it win since it was the 1 bot left in the final 4 that didn't make me want to self-harm. Warspite did decent in the extra melee but battery life was it's downfall once again.
As for awards: Favorite robot: Jilted Lover. Really clean and well-executed. Has a unique look, and is effective to boot.
Least Favorite robot: Dragon Rising. It epitomises everything I dislike about RA2
Bot that should've done better: Big Cat 2
Most forgetable robot:Terrortron. Decently built but generic as they come.
Luckiest robot:Give 'Im the Chair. Not intended as an insult since I'm very happy it won, but I feel it got lucky with how the draws panned out for it since IIRC it never really had to face a truly potent HS until the final, which I think would have been its biggest weakness.
Unluckiest robot: Big Cat 2. The champ drawing DR in round 2 was super unlucky.
Favorite Fight: I'm gonna go GiTC vs Deadgnaw's since it was two of my favourite bots and went the distance.
Favorite rivalry: Unsure

Good to see more of these guides cropping up. In an ideal world there'd be one for every major aspect of RA2. Pretty well-written too. Though you could have condensed it down to just the word "Don't" IMO

That looks better.
TY. I'm certainly happier with it. Battery life is the major issue with it now, although this is primarily meant for online PvP tournaments so I should be able to deal with it if I'm smart with when I time my flips.

Made a thing I don't quite know how to feel about. 4WD (2 NPC fasts, 2 TWMRs) front hinge flipper. Flipper has my usual 2 VDMA front hinges since I think they provide just the right amount of power for an HW. Battery life will be a big issue since it only has 2 blacks, and the wedge is undoubtedly absolute sh** too. Somewhat messy also, though I'm happy I got what I think it a fairly unique shape down. May come back to it tomorrow to give it a touch up. Also, speaking of giving bots touch ups, I made the wheel setup on the last bot slightly less wretch-inducing thanks to Badnik's coloured slipperbottoms. Still invertable.

croat bashing aside, this is a great guide. definitely one of the best ones I've seen for building
TY lads. Glad people seem to be liking the guide. Hopefully new members will find it useful to have an actual resource that can teach them about what IRL is now.

Loving the dustpan hammer. The shell panels are super retro but they work really well, and the purely decorative perm is wonderful attention to detail. My only tiny little nitpick would be to shrink the wheels slightly to avoid that little bit of awkward clipping with the green triangle. Other than that tiny detail though, gorgeous. (also I'm honoured Sabre made it into one of your battle shots :D)
