Where do you guys get the components for those bots?
DSL2.2 Complete Edition. Some bots here have custom skinned components though where people have made their own textures for stuff.

Is DSL 2.2 IRL?
People have explained it poorly. DSL, Stock and Ironforge are versions of the game. They have different components and different installs. IRL, Standard and Unrealistic are building styles. You can technically build each of them in any version of the game, though different versions tend to be associated with different build styles (these days DSL tends to be associated with IRL, Ironforge with Standard, and Stock with Unrealistic.) What style (or "meta" as everyone calls them) you build is purely a matter of choice. Most of your stock bots for example have fallen into the "unrealistic" meta without you even knowing it exists. It's down to you what style you choose to build in. The guide I wrote that kix linked earlier gives an outline of what the IRL build style pertains to. Unfortunately there aren't really any comprehensive up-to-date guides for Standard or Unrealistic at the moment, but you seem to have a decent grasp of those two styles already.

Nice build. I assume you're using DSL 2.3, due to the components you're using?
2.2 but with a bunch of additional mods which are generally used in IRL building. Sometimes goes by the name DSL2.2 Complete Edition. That looks pretty awesome. Also, what material did you use to make the chassis? Aluminium or titanium?
Mostly Alu with some frontal pieces being steel. Weight was a real issue here.

CW for 8bean's thing, Honestly wanted to do a flipper but the last like 4 CWs I've done have all been flippers so I wanted to do something different. Also wanted to make use of the dreadnaught disc since I've never used it before, and this is the result. Weight was a big issue but I managed to get it in weight in the end. Perm 132 for the weapon, Vsmall VDMA for the srimech and 2 TWMRs and 2 astros for drive.

I'm getting the idea of adding irons for ramming weapons, but are they good? because I see them a lot in NAR AI and the DSL 2.1 AI packs.
2.1 AI packs aren't really the best guide for effectiveness since 2.2 rebalanced stuff pretty drastically.

It's a pretty neat take on a flipper. US style flippers tend to be kinda rare in IRL. I'd swap the skirt to a panel + wedge edge personally though since the skirt is pretty thin. Pretty good. I think it would be even better if it delivered damage...
This is an IRL bot, so generally flippers doing large amounts of damage is discouraged.

Any better? [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
Still too many batteries. You only need 1 battlepack. Dunno why you've downgraded the drive also.
I wanted more weight for weapons... BIG mistake. Version 3 under way... I'll remove that extra battlepack and add even more power- probably E-TEKS.
Drive eteks are probably overkill for a BW, and would also require you to increase your chassis size massively which would likely take you overweight. NPC fasts are more than enough for such a light bot.

Double post due to restriction sizes of files... These are more bots from RedForge. They were part of the team that crashed the game, but some of the designs worked... 1. 1- LW - Anger 2- MW - Avenger 2 3- HW - Gashes and Scrapes
I also have a very cool HS I developed. It looks like Carbide. [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
The HS and VS are pretty neat. Bit messy in areas, and probably better suited to DSL since they'll be hella uncompetitive in IF, but it's neat to see someone building IF bots that air more on the side of realism, just for the sake of variety

In terms of looks it's by far and away the best bot you've ever made. Seconding Hop on the perm though. You have more than enough space in that chassis for it and it'll help eliminate some of the empty space you have in there

Used some of the spare weight to go to regular smalls for the bursts instead of Vsmalls, and also added a couple more batts for insurance.

I like it. Looks like something Thyrus would made, that wedge angle is bae
Thy is still my top rated DSL builder personally so I'll take that as high praise

Built something I'm about a million times happier with than the previous bot. 2WD heavily armoured front hinge that's about 50KG underweight but which I'm very happy with nonetheless. 2WD NPCfasts for drive and 2 Vsmall VDMAs for the flipper.

Wanted to build a kinda bucket scoop lifter thing. This is the result. Was supposed to be 4WD but I had to drop it because it was hugely overweight/ Tried to go for a unique chassis shape. I think I did okay but it came out a bit messy. Bucket is powered by a large VDMA while drive is 2 TWMRs. Bucket is all titanium while the front is steel and everything else is Alu. No srimech and can't self right so it's screwed if it gets flipped.

It looks like it has cat ears. Is this intentional?
Nothing about this bot was intentional TBH. Looking at it now with the benefit of actually having slept it looks like sh**

pretty sure youre overweight for shw, cut down the chassis armor and those backwards facing plows and see if you can't get it to 600
How's it a superheavyweight?
Weights in Ironforge are different to in other mods. There's a guide on the splash screen as the game loads in

Are you basically saying no collision meshes or stacks in your bot for this tournament?
No stacking, bfe and other crap. As for colision maeshes... the hell are you talking about?
Collision meshes like spinners' weapons intersecting batteries when they rotate. [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ] example collision mesh- spikes penetrating skirts
example of non-collision mesh- spinner not hitting any components. [ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]
That's not what collision mesh means

Pretty sure it's stock
It looks like DSL...
It's based on DSL but with additional custom components I believe
