For that Mecha Rampage inspired bot, I don't see it as a proper IRL bot, due to the fully exposed internals. You should cover them first

Also, for that Whiplash inspired bot earlier, you should switch to flatmotor instead for the disc motor. The TWM3R motor doesn't look good to me imo, plus they are weaker. You can find the flatmotor by typing cheatbot2 (it's case sensitive) in the bot name, and then finding it in the motor section

add wedgelets
To add, also add hinges and then put your wedgelets on it. I recommend using two metal hinges, one for each wedgelet

Can you show the internals? While there are people who don't do it, it is still important, especially for new players, as it will allow people to say if you made the right choice in internals, or of it's compact or not
Also, what is the armor?

Also, it has been few days, but for Greg, you can use the extra weight to put a srimech. Also, please shrink the chassis and use four NPC Fasts instead, with four rubber wheels

Site News and Feedback / Re: New Category For Bot Exchange?
« on: November 24, 2018, 04:38:31 PM »
Thanks for the input guys!

I'm not sure how to start a showcase as I'm super new to the site's forums, I've spent the last few months just dwelling in the bot exchange. But it sounds like an awesome idea.

Obviously the bot creator doesn't allow you to do too much, but I was more thinking of people who want more replicas in the game. There are a few on the site that I've come across but a lot of them aren't specifically tagged to work with this version of the game.

Chances are quite a few bots in the bot exchange are compatible with the game, it's just finding and separating which ones do and don't - unfortunately not something I have a lot of time or experience to do.

If anyone has any other ideas, I'd be open to hearing them :)

Thanks all, keep on battling.
It's very simple to start a showcase. Just go to the correct section depending on what mod your bot is built in, and then post pics of your bot to show them to people

Stock Showcases / Re: sickle robotics stock showcase.

I had no idea IRL stock exists...
Also, I agree with WenXiangLee. Irons, maces, and razor tips are best because they inflict incredible damage from all sides.

You should try out razor tips on tribars for your next robot.
Well, TommyProductionsInc, Superbomb122, and Antbot also play it. There's even two Stock IRL tourney out there, Banter Wars and RoboDestruction (the former is very popular)

Yeah. Just to help you Sickle when dealing with other people who play Stock, you play Stock IRL. The current Meta for Stock now is Unrealistic, which basically have builders use glitch and no outside program help to make unrealistic bots that are efficient. The IRL Meta is also currently centered in DSL now

However, there are few other players who play Stock IRL. Anyway, back to the bot, while I don't play Stock IRL, I think they do have a point with replacing the sledge with iron as I read from other Stock IRL showcases. Irons are just better because they have no normals, allowing them to damage from every part of the component IIRC

You're definitely getting better, Nuurakh and Drum Roll are very clean-looking builds.

Badnik's right, with the way Drum Roll is designed you could fit in some bigger wheels, ditch the srimech, and have even more weight for things like armour. I'd also recommend moving the weapon forwards slightly, because right now it doesn't seem to have much reach. HSes in particular are going to hit your chassis before they hit your weapon, and that's not good. Maybe use the next Perm length up.

Also, am I going crazy(-er) or are Ring Ring's internals all intersecting?

the only parts of Ring! Ring! that are intersecting are the batteries and the drive motors.
Intersecting parts are not IRL, so I recommend using Ant Batteries, as, while small, can still be very useful.
Actually, IIRC, people are allowed to intersect parts with the ring in ring spinner due to game limitation. I think they are just not allowed to intersect motor with battery, motor with another motor, or battery with another battery

You have to select a stock bot you made and then make a splash then. After that, send the splash to the BOTM account

Discussion / Re: Arena Ideas - Post 'Em Here!
« on: November 21, 2018, 05:41:32 PM »
I have an arena idea- one that's like an ice rink, and makes bots slide.
Don't we already have that with the DSL Ice Arena though?
He doesn't know dsl

Done it, tried DSL, crashes whenever I select batteries and controlboard. Ridiculous. This was DSL 2.2
I don't really know the problem, but if this is a new install, it looks like a file for the battery and control board is missing. If this is vanilla 2.2, then try install all of DSC's IRL Packs. Maybe this will fix the control board and battery issue too, as the pack has recolored batteries

you won't get better if you don't try! give it a shot

I made one, but it looks awful on barricade mk3.
Honestly, with custom skin, it gives you an unlimited possibility on how to help make your bot looks better. So if it's awful, then keep making more for future bots. It will make you get better.

Also to note, you can try to resize your custom skin template before adding anything to 512x512 or 1024x1024. This will make the skin more high definition. And you can also try integrate what the game gives when customizing the chassis, by either applying a color, line, or texture before exporting, or using decal that should later be removed in the skinning program to help skin a part of the chassis.

And finally, what program do you use for skinning? I asked that because if you are using MS paint, then change to either GIMP or paint.net

MS paint.
You should get GIMP or Paint.net then. They are much more powerful at skinning bots than MS Paint

Probably the best bot you've built so far, but still several issues. You have WAY too many batteries. 2 battlepacks is enough for the motor setup you have here. You can also shrink the chassis down a ton, so it's just barely big enough to fit your internals.
To add to what TR said, yeah. All spin motors in RA2 consume the same amount of power due to programmer error, as said in this

Capture-3.JPG

This means you can follow what the description said about how many motors can a batt power for a certain amount of time before a bot runs out of power. This also means you can safely run your bot to the full three minutes with just two battlepacks as what TR said

You should always show internal pics for bots you showcase. It will allow people to see if your chassis is compact or not, and what component you use inside to determine if they are right or wrong. In addition, what is the armor?

Second, it's minor, but you should learn how to skin. It will make your bots look more beautiful than purely using what is on the game. It's pretty easy to do honestly

Third, you should move your metal hinges inside your chassis and replace those Tazbot wedgelets with regular wedgelets, because the hinges sticking out is ugly, and the floating wedgelets are not IRL.

And fourth, always build to the weight limit. You can use the extra 24.9kg for better drive, armor, weapon, etc.

And that's all for my criticism and suggestions. However, I love the custom bar you made for your bot. It's pretty cool when people do that

hey let the kid do what he wants to k thanks
How many times do we have to go over this meta crap? If a host won't use a style you want them to use, suck it up.
Create a thread with a poll in the tournament discussion to determine how many people are interested and if you can get enough entrants to start. Then you can go from there into signups.
You think all those showcases in Stock mean people like it. Well, GTM is now in the DSL-IRL era, sorry. Most of the stock users have either left, and the few that do stock are not in much spotlight as most tourneys and players are DSL-IRL nowadays.
Just because the majority of people play DSL doesn't mean that someone can't host a stock tournament and you don't have to "do stock" to enter one either.
I don't mean DSL-IRL should replace every meta in RA2. I may not prefer Stock Unrealistic, DSL-S, or IF-S, but I still have to do them anyway as I like entering tourneys. I'm just responding to Redalert's question on why Stock isn't popular and I answered it's because GTM is now primarily DSL-IRL as why. I don't say that it means everyone must follow IRL because Stock isn't popular anymore.

Anyway, I'm going to end it here to not further clog this with more drama
