For that bot, I won't say that shell spinners are bad. That bot just generic. In addition, i think you should use the free weight to add a srimech pole. You can do this by attaching a round extender on the center of the bot. Not on the disc for the shell, but on the chassis part, so the pole won't spin

I love the idea of being able to openly create components through the component tool. I feel that if this is going to be in-placed, I would love to see support/interrogation of the Steam workshop or at least have somewhere on the internet for player and mod creators to share the components they've made through this tool, for other users to download and play around with.

Agreed.  Assuming we can get this working,  we are open to ideas on where to host the repository.  Maybe gametechmods?
GTM sounds good. Steam is also good imo

Just appreciate the use of a potters wheel as a chassis on "thanks, i hate it"
Tbh, imo, I think it 's cancer as the component is supposed to be used as a weapon, thus acting as offense defense. Especially with the BW version in this, as the AW is AI'ed as a rammer with good speed at least

Here's a new robot!
If you have any improvements, post them
For that one, I will first prefer a different name. Headache is already taken by an axebot on Orc's Wars Overclocked, and I'm not a fan of same name tbh.

As for the construct, looks pretty neat imo, aside from the front plow, as I think the angled plate should blend with the wheelguards, and the somewhat exposed burst for axe, though that's minor as you at least make it look blend in with the extenderwork around it. I'll also suggest you make the counterweights blend with the rest of the axe shaft. It looks awkward sticking out like that from the shaft.

Also, what is the weight and battery amount, just wondering

Can you make a video of them working? I'm curious on how the first one works.
Unfortunately I can't make a video, but, I can give the bot file. The shuffler is easy to handle, but the walker requires patience, and again, tends to malfunction. But it IS capable of working sometimes. It turns fine, it's just moving forwards and backwards that's difficult.
It's awesome you made a walker and shuffler. I think I will copy the mechanism on DSL using DSL components for a different bot if you are comfortable with it, and then put the walker or shuffler I made for PVP or something if it's available

can the tail flail around ? it would be nice if it could be used as a flail weapon
I put the tail on axle. But unlike the first version's tail, I don't use a weapon component at all. The black bits are 45 degree angle extenders

Finally something better as I got a bit of time when doing it. The HW version of Darwinian Predator Gen II. No internal shot or good pic because no time for that. 799.1 for main clamp config and 791.1 for flipper. 20kg counterweight on clamp, and 40 on flipper. Parts are alu for front plate and side parts, as well as top plate and rear part of bottom plate. Steel for front part of bottom plate and head. Features a srimech powered by a very small VDMA.

Awesome robot!  I just noticed, that clamping blade has to fight Darwinian Predator in OW3. I think this will just depend on, who can get in underneath, but I'm sure it will be a good fight :popcorn
Well, the first DP is bad tbh. Panels BFE'ed to extenders to give it cleaner look, but also a using the extenders to be vulnerable as they take damage the same time, smartzone far behind so the bot can't attack most of the time, and static wedge

Congrats Hop, Geese, and 09. Also, just curious, but considering we lack three mods now that they are promoted, would there be new mods or would we left them as they were?

what is this and how did i miss signups for it
Something Hop planned in the OW Discord after three team fight events hosted there, and decided to make real in GTM.

As for signup, well, it filled pretty quickly

Edit: To specify what I said to Badnik, the make real in GTM bit references how for this one, Hop puts the Signup on the forum now, not just on that discord server

Site News and Feedback / Re: What would you like to see from GTM.
« on: January 18, 2019, 05:02:52 AM »
I'd like the site to not take 30 seconds to load any page when I'm logged in on my desktop. It's basically stopped me from checking the forums.

Real talk though, the community is past the point of no return I'm pretty sure. Most/all of the 'pillars' of the community are gone, RA2 content has slowed to a crawl and non-IRL stuff has been nonexistent for months. There's no reason for anyone to come to GTM anymore. The discord has beyond sh**ty memes and the very occasional "here's a screenshot of my 700th IRL drumbot/flipper", and the forums have... I don't even know. Download links I guess. Maybe an IRL tournament every now and then, but even most of those are hosted off site nowadays, plus no real incentive to host means that I think tournament content on the forums will become more and more rare as fewer people can be arsed with putting in the effort.

It's nice that Kill finally giving up seems to have been a wake up call, but really you're months, maybe over a year or more too late. Too many important community members have moved on. The only way I see GTM not completely going out with a whimper in the future is if cjbruce's game launches and creates an influx of new members, but that's a massive longshot in multiple ways.

Thanks for everything GTM, but I think your time has come.
Honestly, I think IRL can attract people to this, because they look good, as well as being like bots you see or could make IRL. Also, i believe that GTM will adapt itself to RR2, plus there's promising newer members (like ones that joined from 2015-now) too

I don't really have a lot to add, but I appreciate the discussion being brought up on what exactly this community should be, and how we can make it fulfill that role for its members. I'll mention that we've seen many forms of forum activity in the past few years like AI/mod packs, new tutorials, more active showcases, the challenge board, BOTM, and random discussions in Off-Topic, but I feel like the most successful have still been tournaments and RA3/Robot Rumble (well, when there were exciting updates). Those might be good starting points to focus our efforts on for the coming year. Adding to that, I've suggested in previous threads some form of archiving and documenting what's going on in the community on a semi-official page (it was just for GTMCS at the time, but it would extend to other events), like tournament results (even highlights and summary write-ups as well), BOTM winners, mod releases, and other major events, to bring more value to what we do as a community.
I support those ideas. Orc's Wars, for example, now have it's own wiki, allowing people to contribute informations about OW and get them to know more about stuffs in there

Did you raise the control board up in my old entrant so it's out of the way of the spinner? that should fix it.
nope, I won't edit every entry i received.

Drat. I'll see if I can send in another one...
Honestly, for building/AI errors on the builder's end, the builder is always expected to fix it themself in every tourneys

I think all of those suggestions in the opening post sound good to me. In addition, I'll like to see this community being made more welcoming to newbies, as well as the wiki being updated.

Also, finding some way to integrate Discord and forum stuffs. Like there's stuffs that are Discord exclusive, and that not everyone here uses Discord. Or some RA2 players don't use the forum

I will work on giving Acidity the skin soon. For now I have moved on from learning BFE to extenderbots with moving weapons. First attempt isn't clean, but power wise behind the weapon and drive is solid. Definitely need to improve with extenderbots but I gotta start somewhere.

(Image removed from quote.)
While the typhoon teeth actually looks cool because it's colored, I honestly don't like the support. It looks inadequate from the picture. Also, I'm curious, but considering how the parts feel a bit exposed, and the supports are inadequate, did you use like steel for the mostly extender (the component, not extenderbot) construct?

Made some changes based on your feedback. Changed up the support setup a bit to try to lessen the clipping, and also to save weight. Also redid the wheelguards to try to get them a bit cleaner. Finally spent the weight saved from altering the supports on 2 more small typhoons, giving it a total of 4

Oooh, I like that!
TY my man

That tiny weapon may make it difficult to inflict sufficient damage...
Those tiny weapons are called Typhoon teeth, They can do ungodly amounts of damage, he put the teeth on an extender/BFE'd them in to make them smaller, and when the vertical spinner gets under its opponents, it Gutrips, much similar to that of a popup

I like tyhoon teeth.
Redalert is a Hop alt confirmed.
Nah these are smalls. Larges and you may be on to something
Oof at that implied F3/Veorra jab

Awesome and unique bots. I like them both Orc. But for the SHW, I feel the mandibles are flimsy looking
