My current hypothesis on the whole Instant KO thing is that everything is treated like a part of the chassis. Most of the time when I lose a bot, it's because it got hit in the wheel or a thin weapon support.
I guess at the moment, everyone has RA2 logic in their head where if it isn't a part of the main chassis, it won't damage the bot when hit.
My assumption is that it being all chained to the chassis ripples in. Killing the chassis

Hello all. Some of you have concerns about the next series of Apex and I want to address them.
This is a in-between series and should be treated as such. This will not be the standard format for main Apex events.
It's true that I have stated strong opinions about entries, but it doesn't mean I will ever treat them unfairly and often times the opinion is an exaggeration, plus other's do this with other peoples bots too so I personally don't think there's much difference. But I do hope these invite only events will push people to increase the standard of their builds instead of creating a circle jerk to inflate their own ego.
This will not be for a while, please understand this. I have a list of candidates I'm looking to invite for this. I hope people can step up their game to give me a reason to put them on that list
Edit: The list contains names of old and new builders, whilst mosting old due to how experience works, etc.

How comfortable with your AI skills, recording, etc
I've got my same setup from back when I was trying to get on that Let's Play hype train back in like 2014 or so. Just need to modify it a little bit to work with RA2, and then we're good to go on the recording front. AI is going to be a little bit of a crapshoot, but I did call in a favour I was owed from a friend of mine who's a pro Python coder, so they will at least work in the end.

Banning 10mm steel seems pretty weird, and the burst restrictions seem a bit overly restrictive to me, especially for heavyweights. Other than that, it looks interesting. It's nice to see a new face around, and more tournament hosts are always welcome!
Too many bursts can cause physics weirdness, I've noticed. Steel-10 is one of those rules I'm not so sure about, but I'm keeping it for now since it's part of the OW ruleset and that's what I know.
you might want to put in a havok/crash clause. a lot of extenderbots are near impossible to record without issue nowadays Good catch. I knew I was forgetting something.

I can help out with some of the AI. I'm sure others here will help you out if you ask. Also, feel free to deviate from the Orcs Wars Ruleset and just go with what you feel would create a fair environment. Besides no one is really gonna use Steel 10 anyways... I think kix was the reason for that rule as he used to put it on his extenderbots.

Nah got a really small cheapo one, it's like £3.50 every 3 months. Only 2GB RAM but it's about perfect for the small vanilla server I'm running. No SSH access which kind sucks but full FTP access which is nice.
