Works fine for me on Win 8. What crash screen are you getting?
And yeah, Windows 10 is free for a year, hold off for as long as possible

I already sent my ballot, but I kind of wished I added MC Pee Pants. It's like the basis for every one pound drum bot (Poco Tambor, The Bomb, etc).
You can; Mark said that his mailbox tracks IP's, so that you could submit a vote saying "I'd like to add ____ to my ballot" I don't know if there are many gyro-walkers around, but if there isn't then I think Wrecks should get an Honourable Mention.
Vote for Gyrobot in that case; it was the antweight that inspired Wrecks' design, and was a lot more successful.

Once again it's time to vote on robots to be inducted into the Hall of Fame. You only have 2 weeks before it closes, so be proactive. Here are the ones I'm voting for:
Weta, God of Ugly Things: The basis for a beetleweight drumbot kit, which spawned many great competitiors, including 3-time Bot Blast champion Mondo Bizarro Triggo: Inspired by Ziggo, a rising star with a super-reliable shell spinner. I firsthand saw it take a flawless victory at the last Motorama. Upheaval: 5 championships in the Sportsman class Anticide: Hugely powerful flipper in the UK antweight division. Storm II: Looked nearly invincible in Robot Wars, even dominating Tornado twice.
I'll add more to my ballot if anyone can make a good case for any other bot

Yeah, that's probably it, though I feel like it's kind of a bait and switch move to announce you're releasing a game early, then release it with all the good stuff in a future DLC. Also, I miss getting the phone calls; they were a good way to deliver exposition without interfering with gameplay.

The colorful cartoony 1990's are out of fashion, now people want things to be sleek and polished. The novelty isn't there in this era, so they have to sell it even harder as a sports program, and sports programs don't have music during the action.

Phone guy said that the Bite of 87 victim survived, and that the bite of 87 was the reason they took away free roaming mode. That wouldn't make sense if the incident involved a stationary puppet.

Just watched Markpilier's LP. Some faulty gameplay mehanics, and if you're interested in the story resolution, you're completely out of luck, that's being held off for the DLC three months from now. They act like they're going to reveal but it's actually a red herring.

RA2 seems to run fine on 10, which is good I guess.
Do you happen to know if Fraps can record your desktop on 10?

Qualifying round was way too simple, and I have no idea how they ranked all bots after just 1 fight...what I can't understand is why those that lost their fights(wild cards) were no ranked 13th-16th, but somehow got higher ranking...My fav HyperShock(ranked 14th after winning) was about to stop our boring champion in 1/8 finals...lost due to electronics... BiteForce main build failed, it couldn't lift anything, but himself
. The seedings were probably based on engineering prowess for some part. Someone less charitable than I would sugges. That it was no accident thr a root with plastic armour got paired against the most destructive heavyweight in he fighting circuit, but for what it's woth, the grudge match between Overhaul and Lockjaw was. Michael Mauldin says thatthere will be an article in the September issue of Servo Magazine explaining the seeding and tale of the tape rationale

New replica of The Mauler. I wanted it to look a little more flimsy like the real one, and have working flails. While it was tempting to use the mace component, I decided to make them look more like the real thing.

I don't think they broke any rules, they got a W fair and square and didn't break any rules. I'm just worried that everyone else will get on board with this; get some glamor shots with their weapon on, but when they actually get to the arena, take it off and make themselves a wedge. If we want a season 2, we have to make the execs well-assured that they'll get weapon diversity

I've somehow just made it to my 9 year anniversary in the RA2 community. Holy hell.

In addition to the Giant Nut, there were two special awards, the Giant Screws, and theu actually thread with the Giant Nut! The two awards were: Most Destructive, chosen by the judges and awarded to: , and the Best Design, voted on by the builders, and awarded to

I know I'm going to sound salty, byt I didn't like Bite Force's "tactics" of skirting the active weapon requirement. I understand that it was what they needed to do three times to get a W, but if everyone starts pulling that "psych, it's actually a wedge!" trick, then we might not be as guaranteed a next season. There have to be certain concessions in place for the sake of making good TV. There'll always be a place for nets and wedges at the live circuit. . That said, I'm overjoyed at the revival, and will continue doing everything I can to help them get a season 2.

You can cheat that with bot file editing; the components' positions are listed as cartesian coordinates

Yo, are you the one Goose gave the "gay" avatar to?
On topic though: how much would you guys bet that RA3's stock AI will be based on the 2015 BattleBots competitors, like the RA2 stocks were largely based off of contemporary robots?
Hopefully that means they have proper grabbers this time - there were plenty of those in Battlebots.

We have confirmation of a 3-way grudge match between Witch Doctor, Nightmare, and Overhaul with its shuffling configuration.

So, Nate took third in the Beetles and won Best Driver. I didn't do quite as well, going 0 for 4, but my bot's still alive and I got a lot of praise for how good my bot looked, and my homebrew killswitch.

I have a feeling he was more worried about Warrior's flipper than his spinner, and he didn't want to get caught on the wedge.
And in the end, it was the spinner that did him in, should have left the wheel guards on. Maybe then those mini bots wouldn't have kept getting under him as easily either.
No, it was the flipper. Warrior got underneath and gave him a flick, and Nightmare toppled. The wheel guards would have give warrior even more surface area to get under, and his demise would have come sooner than it did here.
