Retro/Classic Gaming - Anything video game related that was released during the PlayStation/Nintendo 64 era or before. The only newer generation system accepted into this category would be the Sega Dreamcast.
This is how the classic gaming community defines it's self. Discuss all things that fit this definition in this thread. 2927

Nah, that's not it. I did find it, though.
It's called Star Castle. The guy is D. Scott Williamson. He's got a page on Kickstarter for it. I would link the page, but I'm currently on mobile web, and this Pantech turd can't copy and paste. Google would pretty much take you straight there, anyway. He is selling cartridges of it and I like the fact that the cartridge case is made of clear acrylic and he mounted an LED on the ROM so it lights up when you play it. Looks pretty sweet... The story of how it came to be is definitely an interesting read, too. 2929

I didn't know you were so into retro gaming, Ian...
I remember hearing about Halo 2600 on Digital Press. Seems like it hadn't been released when I heard about it. On Digital Press, there is a guy that has an "advertisement" GIF for Final Fantasy VII for Atari 2600 in his signature. He has previously mentioned that it was made as an April Fool's Day joke, but the thought of it is worth a chuckle. I also saw a guy that ported an arcade game to Atari 2600, but the task was thought to be impossible because it would have been beyond the 2600's capabilities. The guy tried anyway and proved all the skeptics wrong. I can't remember the name of the game at the moment, but I'll try to find it again. 2930

It would seem that Goldenfox has called Vertigo out, proving that Vertigo actually doesn't know it all in the process...
GF deserves some rep for this... Can someone with such ability +1 him on my behalf? Thanks in advance... 2932

I seriously thought it was an IRL bot, though. I skipped a couple pages and he had built one for a tournement. I guess I was thinking he kept goin with it... On the other hand, though... What the Hell is that pile of sh**, Naryar? I mean, come on... Terrible. Just terrible. 2933
DSL TC Showcases / Re: THE GREAT MIGHTY POO's toilet« on: June 21, 2012, 08:31:31 PM »[IMG]https://gametechmods.com/uploads/images/8723battlethirst.png 5mm titanium seems a bit overkill to me. I think 3mm titanium would be sufficient. One razor tip per beater bar...? I never thought I would have to say this, especially to Naryar, but it needs MOAR RAZORS! The weapon motors will probably spin pretty slowly with the extra weight of the added razors, so upgrading the weapon motors wouldn't be out of the question. I see you explained why you used the Cobra wheels, but their would be better wheels, in my opinion, but whatever. The weapons on the sides, I can't remember the name, but they could be changed to some other part. IRL building doesn't mean to use the worst parts in the game in place of the best parts, but it does bring more of the 'unusable' parts into play. You can still use all the best parts, but only in a realistic way. You can spam razors everywhere as long as they don't interfere with other parts that they shouldn't. I believe the "weld rule" would apply to a razor touching other razors. Also, IRL building is based mostly on aesthetics, but in all honesty, that bot doesn't even look cool. 2934

Skype is a turd and always crashes, but Chrome hardly ever crashes. Hmm... The simultaneous crash is still the strange part. 2938

Are any of those robots that you mentioned even active anymore? Even if they are, they would have had to been updated quite a bit to still be competitive in this day and age. |
