Patched up the Wildcard section to try and avoid confusion. Also, I got some prize component drafts planned out. It will take me a while to make them, but I was thinking that I could make one prize component per component section. One for Power, Extenders, Motors, Wheels, Weapons, and Extras.

Also, what weight class would you enter? The poll is you best friend for that question.

It has always been OK to exostack motors like that in DSL-S as long as the AP's let you do that.
Oh they behave similarly to the NPC Lefts/Rights where you can place the backside out of the chassis? Makes sense.

Also, yeah, not sure how else to improve it, and it looks fine.

alright, but then i'll use BFE because there's a point when you can just not put stuff normally on the bot.
If you actually can make it WITHOUT BFE, you will gain all 105% of my utmost respect.

I've also taken a look at your showcase and I have some serious doubt that you've built an entire robot off of a single axle like on this robot. Actually yes, there is an axle on there for the entire setup. I now regret using it since it havoks in a near instance. I just wanted to show my pain for some odd reason.

Heads up redace, it's usually a very bad idea to put your drive on an axle in any instance that isn't an NCR glitch SnS (and even those can be finicky). If you don't just havok OOTA you're going to have a hard time driving. I would suggest using two anchors underneath the nifty. I very much agree with you. I just barely mess around with the NCR Glitch, so I was trying to mess around with it on a bot that had an easy to understand setup. I.E: Volatile Partisan. I also tried messing with a BW SnS with the drive motors on an axle to save weight, but as expected, It didn't work. it was worth trying though.

mini cyclone is probably one of the worst AWs in ASAI btw I've already posted in the thing in battleshots, so I'm not gonna fire any more shots. I really just wanted some filler for just a bot that was meant to be funny.

Also, pulling a Naryar right now, but I want to be challenged again. This time with Stock hybrids. No limits. Go nuts. I'll try my hardest to make them.

Then make it LW or below.

Also, those hybrids look freaky man, and I like that.

For some reason 399.0 registers as HW sometimes and MW others. Not sure but I bet ra2 uses two decimals and rounds. If it shows up as HW, I would consider it a HW though and you need to cut that last .1kg
I think what Click explained this a while back is that when you get a MW at 399.0 and registers as a HW, there is actually a hidden decimal which is actually 0.04 kg. So technically it weighs 399.04 kg. I've wondered why that is, but I'm guessing precise adjustment to the chassis or just flat out random chance.

Also, exostacking with the motors? Help me out with this one, but isn't that unrealistic in the DSL-S metagame?

2208
Can I suggest turning the hazards off? The electric fence is quite annoying and it makes harder to flip the bots OOTA. I'm really interested to join the tournament though.
I see your point, but the main reason I gave the name "Electric Boogaloo" was for the Electric Arena with the Space Setting. It also proves you gotta build a bot good enough to make sure the fence doesn't work against you. ;)

Also, you may have noticed that one of those other options to vote for at a later date says "35" Entrants. Well I'm planning to make a Wildcard Bracket for the last four entrants. I forgot to put that down. That's fixed now.

Edit: Slight change with the Wildcard tournament, it's now going to be one giant tournament opposed to multiple tournaments. This will make things simpler on my side.

2209
DISCLAIMER: This tournament may only be up for discussion and may not enter the signups phase because of the things I need to take care of in my life. If I do happen to get to this tournament, it will take a while for it to happen, or I will be allowing someone else who is willing to take this over and change any rules if they wish.

I was kind happy with how Robots in Space worked out in the end. There was some interest and I thought a sequel might not hurt to try and fix the errors from the first tournament. Also, I'm gonna try to actually give some sort of back story on this tournament and the last tournament to explain what's actually happening in this.

GENERAL RULES:
- Stock MW
- Unlimited entrants
- Two entries per person max
- I'm willing to AI if you are not able to, but don't complain what I AI'd your bot (It will not change once the SBV thread is up.)
- You cannot enter unless your bot is received and accepted.
- Entries MUST be sent in a PM.
- The Main Winner and Rumble Winner will be allowed to send extra robots.

BUILDING RULES:
- General stock rules apply
- Middleweightbots only (Minimum: 385.0 - Maximum: 399.0 kg)
- You cannot use BFE, AAM, Hax, txt file editing, etc.
- AI parts are allowed, including the 140 cm extender.
- No cheatbot2 parts at all.
- The only custom components that are allowed are from 090901's and/or Sage's Skin Pack and Madiaba's Smart Zones. (Prize components will only be allowed by the people on the list.)
- Smart Zones will not count toward weight, but you cannot use them to act as a ballast
- Crawlers and One Wheel Drive are allowed as long as they show some sort of controlled movement.
- Interchangeable weapons and forms are allowed, but you MUST PM me what form you want to use in the match. (or it will be randomly selected.)
- I will only allow bots that are the best of your ablity, so Jokebots, replicas, IRL style bots, etc. are not allowed. (Please make it more clear this time.)
- You can a MINOR change as many times as you wish as long as it doesn't change much of the bot overall, so make it clear that it's a minor change. (Like changing the Razors on your HS to Irons)
- Once your bot is accepted, you can only send a MAJOR update it ONCE (Like completley changing your entry from HS to Popup), so be careful. (This rule will not apply to bots that have a problem or are rejected. If the updated bot is not allowed or having an issue, the first bot which has been accepted will stay until a fix is sent.)

Multibot Rules:

There will be some special portion for multibots if you wish to enter them. Here's how it works:

-The maximum number of multibots allowed is 2.
-Both bots must stay within 399.0.
-Bots can weigh differently as long it does not go over the weight limit. For example, you could send a MW multibot at 175.0 and 224.0 kg.
-Both bots must defeated by KO, TKO, WBP, or a Forfeit to move on.
-Only one of the two bots will compete in the Annihlator and the heaviest will compete.

Prizes:

These are custom components which the Champion, Runner-up, and Award Winners use only. Once you've won the prize, they are legal for any future Robots in Space tournaments.
*(Prizes will be made)

MATCH RULES:
- 2 minute length matches
- 1 vs. 1 Battle Format
- Best of 3 Rounds
- The Arena will be the Electric Arena 2 (Reskinned, Hazards on)
- If there is a battle with Multibots, then it will be fought in the Electric Arena 2T Arena (Same as above arena except Multibots will start side by side.)

Wildcard:
Unlike last time, there will be a Wildcard bracket. For those unfamiliar with them and how they worked in tournaments of the past, here's the gist of this one:
- The Wildcard Tournament will have the last four entrants to send their legal bots, so first come, first serve for the main tournament spots
- If I happen to receive more than 4 bots and have less than enough bots so that two bye bots don't fight against each other, then it will be one giant Wildcard tournament to decide the last tournament spot.
- These fights will be added to your rankings
- The four entrants will fight in a Round Robin tournament and who ever wins the most rounds, or the most points at their last round will take the last spot in the main tournament. Points will be scored are scored like this:
  • Wins KO's and TKO's earn you 3 Points
  • Wins by Match Score will earn you 2 Points
  • Wins by Forfeits will score you 1 Point
Annihilator:
At the end of the main tournament, there will be a Bonus Annihilator Battle as a replacement for the rumble. All above match rules applies here. This is how it works:
- The rumble participants will be the top four bots that aren't the finalists.
- They will be decided by the bots who score the most KO's, TKO's, and WBP's.
- If there is a 2-4 way tie for the fourth spot, a one round battle royale will determine the winner of the last spot.
- Any KO's, TKO's, and WBP's will count towards their rankings.
- The Round format will work in an Annihilator battle style format. (For example, suppose the bots were TOG, DRIII, CAH 2, and 4AM Bot. Now Imagine that in the first round, 4AM Bot gets gets beaten. The next round begins will begin without the eliminated bot. (In this case: 4AM Bot) This process continues until one bot is left standing.

Restart Rules:
The rules about restarting the match will be a little more clear this time. More than one of the below criteria can happnen and not penalize you. If once, that bot gets a Free Restart. If Twice, that bot will forfiet the match if any of the folling criteria occurs:

-Havok Restart: The bot does a Hazok Explosion which costs the match for it's opponent.
-Second Chance Restart: If the loss was from being pinned, getting stuck for a reaon
  • A)It has controlled movement.
  • B)It has enough battery life for it to actually matter.
  • C)The control board warning is not is on yellow or below.
If none of the above is met, then the first match will be the final result of the match.

My entries will be shown once all the polls are finished and we are all set and ready to go.

If I think of an idea or plan in this tournament that would seem like a cool idea, I will post an announcement about the idea to discuss. Also, all kinds of feedback, criticism, and interest will be appreciated. Thank you.

Well I do feel Cruiserweights need more love. They can be fun in battle if you build them right. Perhaps if we build more of them or one could even host a fun tournament with them, they could be more popular. I mean SHWs weren't popular when first invented, but it got popular later on since CC2 was built with the SHW weight class. Who knows? But back on topic now...

I agree with RedAce there, would look better without flamethrower.
I never said that. I was just curious about why it was there, and Craaig answered my question.

Last day to vote guys.
And that last day is now over! Here are the winners:

Innovation Award:
Disastrous Recipe: 6 points
Diamond Miner 7 & Hex 2: 2 points

You gotta admit, while it didn't have the best run in the arena, it made it up with how cool and unique it is.

Picasso Award:
Yeti: 8 points
The 4AM Bot & Hammertime: 2 Points
cheese: 1 Point

Tibsy is a pretty good artist, and now his paint job skills were worth it in the end.

Scarriest Award:
Devil's Rosebush III & Plutonium: 4 Points
Crime Against Humanity 2 & Blood Shed: 2 Points
Yeti: 1 Point

A tie for first? Not bad. Even though it was a race of snails for this one, but it was a close one though.

Unlucky Award:
pomf=3: 10 Points
Diamond Miner 7 - 2 Points

This bot was a contender to do extremely well but it didn't. This should make up for it's luck since voting was pretty much a unanimous decision.

Congrats to All of our award winners 090901, Tibsy, The Ounce, and Virus Bomb! Once the Awards are all made, you can PM me or say what prize you would like to use for the next Robots in Space!

As a bonus, Badnik96 and Virus Bomb will be allowed to have one other prize component for being the Champion and Runner-Up Respectively!

And with that, this tournament is now officially complete. I liked how this turned out. It was a fun experience. I do want to host a sequel. however, I know this probably won't be something like BBEANS, Clash Cubes or Battlebots in terms of demand, but I do feel I could try to make this as fun as possible. But it's not really interest from the audience that could hold me back, but my future plans may have me swamped with things in my life.  We'll see though, I won't officially announce a sequel until my calender looks free and good to go into signups. I am announcing it now, A sequel will be discussed. Now that I got that off my chest, I'm gonna contact Craaig to say this tournament is done.

That's just awesome looking. Kinda bothersome since the wheels don't look like omni wheels though. Also, why use flamethrowers? I just don't get it.

I've got another hybrid in my head right now, but right now, clone:

Volatile Actions (Try guess what it's cloning. :dumb) ) 247.9, DSA, and the axle isn't stacked in the nifty. It would perform pretty well...

Discussion / Re: Ideas for Improving Components
« on: March 09, 2015, 06:25:03 PM »
I think RedAce talks about stuff like the angeld connectors and flippermakers
Kinda, but maybe I was a bit too vague. I'm really trying to say how to improve an already existing component so it feels better using it because it makes building so mush easier, or significantly improves the component overall, along with balancing it to not make it broken.

For example: A common thing stock builders like doing is to stack SuperVolt batteries since it not only saves space in your chassis, but it provides your bot a good amount of juice to fight. One problem to this is that it takes up a lot of time to actually get the stack, especially if you don't have much experience doing it nor enough space for leeway.

Enter the BBEANS Stacked SuperVolt, this fixes the issue of time management as they are "pre-stacked" since they provide double the power of a normal SuperVolt battery and twice the weight in one component. This is almost to where does and doesn't make a difference since it's useful and balanced.

This should be a little more specific explanation. Hopefully.

Discussion / Ideas for Improving Components
« on: March 09, 2015, 04:00:59 PM »
If there has been a thread similar to this, please merge it with the original. Thanks.

Now, components are absolutely essential in RA2, (I mean without them, how would you make your bot?) But admit it, some components have their shortcomings when in combat. In fact, some are actually pretty useless in because they certain weaknesses that overcome their strengths.

With this in mind, I ponder this: How would one make a component to where it has a heavy usage? So, if you were to improve any component, whether in Stock or DSL, whether useful or useless, I'm curious to know your ideas.
