No one has used this rule to their advantage yet, so if you want to, go right ahead. Home Arenas are randomly generated arenas given to you once signups are full. Then, I randomize the seeds, whatever number you are seeded on Challonge is what number the arena is on the list. For example, if you are #5 on the bracket, your home arena will be the Robot Wars Arena. Lastly, before I begin the match, I flip a coin to decide if you will go to your home arena or your opponents home arena. With all this confusion, I should probably do a display tournament on this first, then see what happens to the real deal. 1663

My thoughts:
Well, despite the fact that Scott Cawthon doesn't know the meaning of patience, it's a solid game. I am not exactly big on jumpscares but that doesn't mean that it isn't a scary game anyway. It's all about it's settings and sounds this time which can really put a nerve on the player when your trying to survive. There's a lot of shifting from one strategy to the next which I appreciate. You can't just go in a loop until you know what works and what you can do to adapt. But damn, this game has got a very hard learning curve and is not for the faint of heart. It's gonna test your survival skills and your ability to adapt. The story is however is getting more baffling and is really getting confusing and it's starting to come off pretty badly. Perhaps Game Theory will help me out. I'm glad that Scott made this game. I wanted this to be a great way to end the series, not counting the upcoming DLC, and Scott saved the greatest for last. Overall Rating: 9/10 It has its flaws, but it really excels as a horror game and a strategy game, but this is for the most persistent of players since many will try to beat this, but very few will depending on your skills. 1665

Pretty much what Craaig said. There has been an oversaturation of IRL tournaments and whenever there is a standard tournament, people just enter IRL bots anyways. Hell, some people enter IRL style bots in Stock tournaments even though that's a blue moon in itself. So I said screw it, and put that rule up with a side note. Craaig and S.T.C. have done the exact same rule in their tournaments and I don't see a problem with it.
Also, the arena swapping is supposed to be like Conraaa's Home and Away tournament where one bot gets an arena chosen for them and then there is a 50/50 chance of them getting their home arena. The bonus is that you probably won't get the same arena every match and strategy is all about expecting the RNG factor. 1666
Tournament Archives / Hometown Showdown - Cancelled(?)« on: July 31, 2015, 05:12:15 PM »![]() Before anyone asks, This won't be coming very soon. I'm just putting this up for discussion to let people know what I have in mind next and see if people like what tournament has to offer. I do want to host this one, so we'll see if it will actually go through. Now I had this tournament concept in my head for a while, but I ha a bit of trouble thinking of how it would work. While something like this has been done before, I want to try to make things a little more fair and fun without getting complex for everybody. Now that I have all the rules set, let's go over how this will work. GENERAL RULES: - Ironforge MW - Standard Style Building (You can build IRL, however, I wouldn't recommend it since you will be outclassed) - 16 Bots will compete - 1 Bot per Person - I will AI to the best of my ability if you cannot, but don't complain what I AI'd your bot (They will stay when the SBV Thread goes up) - If you wish to use custom .pys for your entry, I will allow them only if they are NOT broken and can cheat. - You can only enter if I receive your bot, and it's accepted. - I myself will not enter unless there is an open spot when signups close. BUILDING RULES: - Ironforge Bots only - Standard Realism Rules Apply (IRL is also allowed, but it isn't recommended.) - Middleweight bots only (Minimum: 190.0 - Maximum: 200.0 kg) - You can use up to a total of four ballasts in your robot and they will not count towards weight. - You cannot use BFE, AAM, Hax, txt file editing, etc. - No cheatbot2 or custom parts at all. - Smart Zones will not count toward weight, but you cannot use them to act as a ballast. - SnS's, Crawlers, and One Wheel Drive robots will not be allowed. - Interchangeable weapons and forms are allowed, but you MUST PM me what form you want to use in the match. (or it will be randomly selected.) - I will only allow bots that are the best of your ability, so Jokebots, replicas, etc. are not allowed. (Please make it crystal clear.) - You can a MINOR change as many times as you wish as long as it doesn't change much of the bot overall, so make it clear that it's a minor change. (Like changing the Razors on your HS to Irons) - Once your bot is accepted, you can only send a MAJOR update it ONCE (Like completely changing your bot), so be careful. (This rule will not apply to bots that have a problem or are rejected. If the updated bot is not allowed or having an issue, the first bot which has been accepted will stay until a fix is sent.) Multibot Rules: There will be some special portion for multibots if you wish to enter them. Here's how it works folks:
BATTLE RULES: - 1 vs 1 match format - 2 minute length matches - Best 2 out of 3 (Finals will be 3 out of 5) - Double Elimination Bracket - Brackets will be determined by Challonge.com - If there isn't the desired amount of entrants, the ByeBots will be various bots made by 123STW that comes with Ironforge. - Judging will determined by the damage points at the end of the match - Once everyone has entered, I will randomize the seeds to see which entrant gets their Home Arena. - Before each match starts. I will flip a coin to determine which robot will go to their Home Arena and will remain for the three sets in the round. - There will be two brackets. The winner of the two brackets will face off against each other to see who is the victor. Restart Rules: The rules about restarting the match will be a little more clear this time. More than one of the below criteria can happen and not penalize you. If once, that bot gets a Free Restart. If Twice, that bot will forfeit the match if any of the folling criteria occurs: -Havok Restart: The bot does a Havok Explosion which costs the match for it's opponent. -Second Chance Restart: If the loss was from being pinned, (i.e. getting stuck for a reason) But I will only restart if:
My (Possible) Entry: NOTE: While I do have eight arenas for each bracket, I do want to find eight more so that one bot gets one arena each. I will also count brand new arenas that other people made If you have ny suggestions, then leve them below. Before you start posting, here are some restrictions: 1. The arena MUST have open walls for OOTA purposes. Flippers and the like will have a disadvantage with enclosed arenas. 2. The hazards or obstacles must NOT be too invasive to the robots so matches can have fair outcomes. Yes, even with hazards off. 3. I've already considered a selection of arenas, so don't ask for these as they have already been suggested or I have updated the list. Once again, don't expect this to come very soon. I'm not saying when I am doing this, but I'm not doing this as soon as one could expect. Hopefully, I've covered everything. Got any other questions? Go ahead and post them and I will answer them if I haven't clarified from what's in the rules. 1667

The shells are really supposed to protect the motor because the setup of the bot can break easily and if it were a Vertical Disc Spinner design opposed to the Vertical Shell Spinner design, it would be even more of a glass cannon.
Anyway, nuubawht ![]() This is supposed to be like Urjak's IF popup thing mixed with a wedged poker design. 299.9 kg, Alu 5 1 Die-Hard, 1 Air-Tank, 2 Ballasts. 1668

If we wanna talk about possible arenas that have almost never been in any tournament to date, how about the ELBITE Arena. While it was made for one person's tournament, but it's almost never been used since. If my memory serves right, that arena has only appeared in a total of three tournaments after the original tournament or it expired and of those three, it was seen once out of those three times. It was only used for showing it's name twice as it never made an appearance otherwise in an actual fight. I feel it's a bit unappreciated and underused. I feel it's a pretty fun arena.
I'd say that the kenzorg remake needs some love, but the ring arena is probably the best.I agree. Keznorg would be fun as well, but with hazards on? If so, then it's not so much fun since playing in that is practically impossible since it crashes with every time a couple components fly off or a strong hit collides with the opponent. There was a good reason I kept Hazards off for that arena in BTTB Revamped. 1670

You know, the bashing has kinda reminded me of pretty much everyone's past in general. Good Lord, there are just moments that are just best left forgotten, although I am still snickering at the ridiculousness of some of those moments. Specifically mine. For example, you believed I was either Inf and Venko, or their lovechild. Admittedly, I wouldn't blame you for thinking that since my style wasn't that original. I guess the whole respect thing comes from an impact you left in general.

Real Robotics Discussion / Re: BattleBots 2015 Discussion« on: July 27, 2015, 10:10:37 PM »why is this a big dealI think it's because of what Natef said and that the interchangeable weapons are only used for one robot. I agree the latter is extremely situational and kinda cheap, but I don't care since you can use interchangeable weaponry as this fancy thing you kids probably don't know well called Strategy. That's one of the things I love the most about this sport since your objective to win is very simple and your given a lot of options n how you can win. Interchangeable weapons are certainly no exception as it opens up a broad selection of options and tools for you to use making matches much more interesting. Tornado in Robot Wars had a wide selection of weapons that helped them since building bots is not just about brawn, but it's mainly about brains. As for the the moving weapon violation or weapons designed for one opponent, I feel this is an argument that really depends on the rulebook. There are tons of bots that have made weapons just for one match and no one gave a damn otherwise even if it was allowed or not. (i.e: Diesector vs. Final Destiny.) I'm trying to say that interchangeable weapons can only break so many rules an opens up a lot of options for your robot. I only care otherwise if they are just asking for them to break rules. (looks at Complete Control vs. Ghost Raptor) [/rant] 1678
Stock Showcases / Re: Sircreepalot2's Very Average Showcase« on: July 27, 2015, 09:51:14 PM »
It's the trov glitch causing the crash. Simply set your graphics quality in your game to low and you should be fine.
As for the bot, what am I looking at? Props to something a little more different in terms of design, but it it's a whole new kind of different that I don't think works. Let's go over a couple things to try and fix it: 1: do NOT use Mud Tires, like at all. Shiny and rubber wheels are infinitely better. And while your at it, turn the drive motors. While you may prefer it, you're gonna hate how it moves since the bot will have trouble turning it and will be stiff as if it has tall wooden sticks for legs. 2: Lower the weapons so they can actually hit your opponents, by putting them on the sides of the extenders. You will need to use the Snapper Loading Glitch to make this work. 3: Put the plows in the front and move the casters to the bottom, if necessary that is. 4: With the extra weight you have, you can add a couple more maces and one more tribar with an equal amount of weapons (or not)so it fight a bit more. 5: Also, props to using the Trov Glitch, but for a chassis like this, I don't think you'll need it since it give empty space and a waste of weight. Try to make things a little more confined when building this, like a shoebox. Try something like Absolute Chaos for example. In fact, that bot is a great reference to building a powerful HS to begin with. Take lots of notes from that bot and apply them to this bot. I hope this all helps you out. No offense intended at all. EDIT: Well, I'm still slow. 1679
