I also made an update to this thing from a while back. It was very well received at the time but I felt that the flipper in particular could have been improved. I went with a longer panel + some edge pieces that IMO integrate it into the bot much better and make for a much more cohesive package. I also changed the colour of the flipper from the somewhat jarring bright green of the old one to a dark blue, which makes for a nice compliment to the light blue and black bits that make up the rest of the bot.

Brushless motors are smaller, lighter, more convenient, and pretty much as powerful as you'll ever need. Without some balancing factor there you might as well remove the other motors from the game because they'll never get used if brushlesses don't have a drawbackI'm just wondering about why brushless motors would be deemed to break more easily. 164

They're still one of the best wedge components, but they generally aren't legal in IRL building, which is why I brought it up in response to 8bean calling it an IRL popup. If you're going for DSL-S here which I assume you are then you're fine.Yeah I only put those skirts bc idk which things make for a good wedge in DSL 2.2, I presume the new wedge edges are the best, but they're so tinyirl popup locatedFam you seen those skirts? 165

Overall my main focus here was making something cool though, and to get a hinged wedge I'd have to spend less weight on visuals to put into the wedge 168

An update. Managed to find a weapon setup that massively reduced the weight and allowed me to get 2 small typhoons instead of 1, while still being asymmetrical and still pretty well balanced (it's maybe a hair shaky compared to the previous setup but it's not bad at all. I've seen worse from some balanced weapons). I also skinned up some of badnik's disc covers with my terrible skinning skills in order to cover the discs since the new setup used shell discs instead of DSL discs. All in all pretty happy with this thing now

Revisited my single tooth vert from a while ago and gave it a visual update. Also switched from 4WD slimbodies to 2WD TWMR2s. May throw this in discord wars or some sh**. Won't win anything but it maybe looks neat IDK

You can use Bot file editing to move the disc downwards/upwards after attaching it to the motor. Here's a link to a guide on how to do it: https://gametechmods.com/forums/tutorials-and-tips/bfe-a-beginner's-guide/

Guess I'll drop my bot that's gonna be competing in Cringey's thing now signups are pretty much over. Touch messy in places but hey it was built quickly and at least it exists unlike SOME PEOPLE'S
![]() Also possibly a touch similar to Claymore/Sabre. Didn't start out that way but convergent evolution will do that. If you put them side by side they do look pretty different, honest 174

Reiterating what I said in my previous comment. Really impressive work for a newcomer here. If I saw these in a tournament I'd assume they were built by someone who's been active on the forums for some time. Fuse would definitely benefit from a bump in skin resolution up to 1024x1024 or something like that but other than that it's a slick looking bot.
The extenderbot tombclone is really nicely executed too. I tend not to be a fan of tombclones but you've done a good job of making this one look sturdy and also relatively unique for such a common design. Your usage of polycarb is particularly nice as that's something that people so often mess up IMO. In terms of combat effectiveness it probably won't be particularly effective as you've noted, but for a second extenderbot it's really impressive in terms of looking like a well-thought-out design executed by someone who actually knows what they were doing. Keep up the good work! 176

Seconding 8bean and Thyrus. Very nice work for someone so new to the forums. I'm especially impressed by how well aligned your panels are, as that's something that even people with years of experience seem to struggle with.

Shock, horror, it's a new bot. Double shock: it's a flipper. Had the idea for this in my head for a while and finally got round to executing it. There's a few areas that could be cleaner as I'm a tad rusty but overall I'm pretty happy with the result. 2 NPC fasts, 2 medium VDMAs, standard sh**
