Pretty nice actually, great job on that flipper. You could probably get away with Ti5 and use the weight to add some plating on the sides to protect the wheels. But it's a great bot and I hope to see you improve it in how you see fit

But maybe I'll do something like dsc did with carbonize and make a frosty version. It looks really nice. Gives off a real mean vibe, and it seems like it'll be a beast in combat. Not a big fan of the color scheme, but that's more of a "me" thing. And how's its speed? I can't really tell its drive from the pictures. Its a shame I know. But I might do some skinning on the front panels.Like Badnik reommended 1485

Thank you, the colour is meant to be giving off a metallic/cold steel vibe so I think it hits it rather well. And the drivr is NPC fast so its pretty nippy for a HW. 1486

DSL TC Showcases / Re: Olister92's DSL showcase« on: January 29, 2018, 05:07:35 PM »As you have 2 reds. 1 red will go to the drive and 1 will go for the storm, which isn't enough. Now I feel bad, its a great bot none the less, just battery was a concern. But now that bot looks great. 1489

Thanks man, yea, the goal is to push them around and using a combination of the flipper and momentum turn them over 1494

Challenge Board / Re: Challenge Belt - January 2018« on: January 27, 2018, 01:30:59 PM »
I feel that the challenge belt in it's current state has overlooked the communities trends, such as the rise of IRL and that no one tends to do challenges anymore. However, I don't believe implementing IRL is a solution until we change solve the dispute of what classifies as IRL (Mystic is currently looking at creating a document for potential rule sets, etc for IRL. Which we can either adjust or use. Found here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1N5zeHUZg6Eo2rY-FnhRNwp4S1Rrd79_ZQgURy5ha-wg/edit).
What I do believe is that the barrier of entry is too high due to no one being interested in the challenge board. It is important to make the meta and weightclass feasible to new player who'd like to get into the meta, GTMCS2 did a great job of getting new players to build in metas which they hadn't tried before. Not only that I also feel that it doesn't feel official enough, it feels really last minute and not announced enough, I often forget it exists. This are issues which were also reflected when I asked the GTM members over at A Heap of Land. My idea so far: Create a system like how CSGO sorts their pro teams Legends, Returning Challengers and New challengers. Allow me to explain how this'll fit into a challenge belt system. "Challengers" will have no entry requirement, meaning that the whole community would have access to it. Here I believe having easy to create weight classes and some intermediate ones will be helpful as it can get people into the metas. So it acts like a beginners place. "Legends" however, will be the big league so to speak. The entry requirements could be that they either win a "Challengers" tourney or Top [Insert number here]. In this tourney the meta and weightclass would be more for advanced users. For the first run of "Legends" notable players (Reier, Thyrus, Badger, Pwnator and Sage as some examples imo) and previous Challenge belt holders.... so just Dreamcast would be automatically eligible. If you have any ideas for the system yourself, please share them. Overall I feel that the challenge belt cuts out a large proportion of the community due to it's behind bars entry requirements and its lack of accessibility to players looking to get into it. GTM is a community forum and should be aiming to support the communities interests and help out players who seek to improve their skills and compete with other players. Tournament Archives / Re: Orc's Wars« on: January 26, 2018, 01:49:49 PM »HYPE! After doing poorly with money bags I hope I'm more successful here. Also are we going to get any side events because I think having cruiser, middle or super heavy weight competition would be sweet Like last time, there will be a Lightweight, Middleweight and Super Heavyweight competition. And I believe there will be a Challenge Belt, Tag Team Terror and a World Champion. But Orc can correct me if Im incorrect 1498

Nice bots here, the first of which beat me. looking at purple nurple, I think you should try to get a 6 mag in the bot instead of a perm. Then you can mold the body to the same width of the batteries and NPC fasts. as for the bar, frenzy hammers make it look different, but you can go with a 50x250 or longer bar with large typhoon teeth.
As for mustard. like neon said you'll need better support for the weapon. Overall I'd just try to make the chassis as compact as you can, this will save you weight in which you can apply better plating. Also hinge your wedges, they'll be much more effective. Great bots overall, interested to see how you can improve and I certainly hope to get my revenge on Purple Nurple ![]() General tip for showcases, try not to make your bot image so small, really makes it difficult to see the details. |
