Have you tried a setup where the bsg's are reversed so it pops the opposite way to see if it's more effective damage wise?
Yes I did, but it was unrealistic with that setup used.

Holy carp.  I'm actually posting here.

Plastic 5, 9 ants, (which I didn't notice until now as a matter of a fact), NPC Fasts, 4 razors per BSG, and slight AGOD in the wedges.

Yep, some of you might recognize this bot.  It's that bot I used for that challenge against Marty.  I wanted to accomplish three things with this.

1. Create a side popup since they aren't as common.
2. Make a hybrid.
3. Not recycle an old bot for the challenge.

So yeah, I took the cowards way out by making something overpowered as all hell.  Sue me.

Edit: Oh yeah.  I need ideas for my Throwback tourney.  Throw them out there.

will enter. when's deadline?
By the way, you have 24 hours from this post to point out any mistakes I may have made with the splash/brackets, if you don't speak up and I don't notice it, I'm going ahead regardless.
In other words, less than 12 hours if my calculations are correct.

There should be an 'Add Poll' button near the top and bottom of the page.

I thought you said it was a Double Elimination tourney, or circumstances have changed?

Perfectly understandable, and I think Click used the Bevel & Emboss function in Photoshop.

Oh yeah, I just remembered that Grinding Noise, a rad "popup" won last time.  It might abuse the rules a bit here, even if it's lightweight.  Will you ban those as well or not?

Uhhh, Is this still a thing?  I haven't gotten anything from G.K. yet.  My apologies for sounding and being impatient.

What I want to know is, as interest in this game continues to wane, what can we adjust to keep people coming back? We will always be an RA2 community but should we readjust  our focus somewhat?
Maybe a special tournament that can be the equivalent to a BBEANS7?  It's up to the audience to make a choice if they are up for it or not, I know, but I can't think of anything else that would sure as hell make me interested in RA2.

As Sircreepalot pointed out earlier, you could remove the separate anchors and put the weapons all on one extender as it's really unnecessary  You could put more weapons and even rotate them to face directions so they hit different parts of the bot as well as fend off some nasty spinners.  Lastly, you might be able to get some irons on there with the remaining weight in case the rule of seven gets in your way.

Looks pretty good otherwise.

You should also limit or ban casters and baseplate half-sheets for DSL.  It'll make sure I don't enter an armored invincible tank here.

Other than that, I'll enter.  I got a few drafts for each tourney.

Also, I'm sure Click posted how to work those magic python powers somewhere, but I am not quite sure on that.

Glad to see you keep up with updates and that you got this completed.  Sorry for not responding to a lot of these.  I kinda have been trying to catch up as much as I could.

So I decided to do VB's Popup Challenge out of boredom.  The rules remain the same, but instead of using Ideal Tyrant 2, I used my popup: Tough Love 2.  Other than than, the rules are the same.

Maelstrom didn't last too long.

Neither did Borg Queen.

Leprosy was sent back to it's grave from R4.

Wide Cut had an interesting tactic where it flexed it's weapons to strike R4 and Tough Love 2 enough to kill them, but it didn't work so well against Heroic Sacrifice.

Little Darling managed to beat R4, but not Tough Love 2.

Bee Keeper got it's bee-hind beaten.

Karnage had R4 down and out, but it couldn't handle Tough Love 2.

Copyright Infringement didn't get OHKO'd.  That's all that needs to be said here.

Death Dealer delayed it's own inevitable death, but it long enough for it to last.

Vela is now seeing stars after being beaten early by R4.

Terminator has got to be my favorite of the matches from intensity and stupidity.  It lasted for a while, beaten R4 and got Heroic Sacrifice to kill Tough Love 2 in friendly fire.  It also managed to rip off all of the razors off of Heroic Sacrifice, but it got KO'd by the wedge protectors on Heroic Sacrifice.  The Wedge Protectors!  It was close.

Mace in da face managed to thwart off R4, but it didn't last long against Tough Love 2.

Chernobyl lasted long enough for Tough Love 2 to kill it.

Diamond 4 wasn't going to be the diamond in the rough in this one.

Category 5 did a bunch of bumbling around, and it was effective enough to blow away R4 and Tough Love 2, but Heroic Sacrifice had none of that and destroy the hurricane.

Cochise got executed early.

Public Enemy got taken out just as the doors were opening up on Tough Love 2.

Invincible?  I didn't think so.  However, it managed to prove itself against R4 and Tough Love 2.

'Nuff said about The Fluffinator.

Trio couldn't count long enough before R4 destroyed it.

Mega Mole probably had one of the best and worst runs here.  It lasted long enough for all three popups to get out, but it didn't even kill one.  Not only that, it's a trooper as it got mangled from all three popups before getting counted out of it's misery.

The Sandman was sent to bed by R4.

Clown Breath didn't even get chance to breathe.

R4 said "Checkmate!" early to c3.

Arcade HW said Game Over before he could know it.

Burrrrrrrrrried Aloive had no chance against R4.

Spinyy Dinnyy was simply dinner for R4.

All was not a loss though, WoS took out R4, got Heroic Sacrifice to KO itself and flip it over with both self-righting wedges disabled.  WoS managed to pull through and win the Popup ChallengeTM.

Yes I am aware of all the bad puns I made.  :P

Not bad.  I could get some use out of it.

There's two hidden extra updates in the first image. Can you find them?
The mouse cursor and the decorations tab.  Can I have my cookie now?

I think what deviates vet from AU is general length and contribution.  Veterans are the ones who have been contributing in the RA2 and GTM community for longer than a lot of people, while AU is about half of that (Don't quote me on this one.  I could be very wrong).  It also probably is determined by how much you contribute in general because some AUs might have been here for a long time, but haven't done too much with RA2.

Alright, I'm going to now stop typing before I offend anyone right now.

Anyone familiar with Deathwatch 8:15?  (I'm not going to search everywhere in the archive thread for the original photo by the way.  That would take ages for me.)  You know?  Clickbeetle's series of MW VS?  I would expect some of you to, mainly those hardcore vets, but I wouldn't imagine many new members to remember.  But anyway, this bot in particular is a favorite of mine.  Why?  Well, if you look at the smart zone and the Snapper2, they serve the purpose having the vertical discs attack any bot that gets underneath it.  So if you haven't figured the primary focus out yet, it counter-attacks popups, or whatever other type that usually takes advantage of it.  How come people haven't caught on to this yet?  It's brilliant.

Wait, where am I going with this?  Oh right, I wanted to make one of these into a lightweight.

248.0 kg, DSA, 1 Nifty, the rest should be visible.

The result?  From my testing with ASAI, it works rather well.  Sure, it's unstable and flops like a drunk guy with a giant head (cookie for who can come up with a better analogy than this one) when the snapper2 fires, but it eats popups like nothing else and sine Popups in the LW class usually have next to no external armor, it makes mincemeat of them.

No this isn't my DDDDD entry.  Just to answer those who are curious.

Oh God.

It's been about five years since I've been on GTM.  Five, long, years.  *sigh*  I know none of you care, but if you look back, it's been one hell of a ride for me.

Time to enter Mr. Bones' Wild Ride again.
The ride never ends.

Also, I'll try to enter something this time.  I have a brilliant idea.
