> that skirt wedge
(Image removed from quote.)
Looks solid apart from that. Maybe try and made the wedge and main body more connected, kinda looks like 2 bots glued together atm
I agree that the wedge and the main chassis look a bit disconnected. I originally had a DSL armour triangle on either side under the angle pieces, which made it look a lot more connected, but they had to be ditched because of weight problems. Weight is the main issue here that's preventing me from doing what I actually want to do with this bot, as there's not really much I can get rid of to find the weight to do more stuff to it.

This is Nightjar, my planned entry for the next Redditbots (Hence the disgusting skirt wedge. If I ever enter it into something on GTM the skirt wedge will be gone.) It's mainly designed to at least attempt to counter the spinner heavy meta they have going on there. Sadly weight has meant that the front wedge is partially aluminium, and partially titanium so it isn't gonna be as good at killing spinners as I'd initially hoped. That said it should still be decent, and the bot is fast, manoeuvrable and has a pretty strong flipper so it will hopefully be reasonably competitive. Weighs 399KG exactly and has Al3 for chassis armour. Exterior: Interior:

Is it just the one orange batt in sequoia?
Yep. It seems to be more than enough to go the full 3 mins though.

Here's a post of some tourney / pack entries. First up all of my LDAI submissions Top left - SHW 1181.5KG: Finity III. Doubled up the bar to 2 Moros blades since the original HW version. Switched the drive to NPC fasts rather than regulars, switched all of the panels to steel and gave it a pole like Naryar suggested ages ago to assist self-righting. Top middle - HW 795.8 KG: Bocuma II. This one you've seen before. Some minor changes have been made including refining the wedge to be more effective after its loss to Avalanches A.G.E Mk 3, and shuffling the drive motors around a bit. Top right - CW 598.2 KG: Kiteracer II. Pretty much completely rebuilt since you last saw it. Longer wheelbase so its more controllable, and the armor panels are now sloped at the rear to match the slope of the chassis. Lifter has also been changed as the SMIDSY style jaws, while cool looking, were pretty much useless. Bottom right - MW 397.2 KG: Spectrum. This one got redesigned about 4 times. Originally started out as a lifter believe it or not. Now a reasonably effective tribar spinner. Flatmotor for the weapon because it's all that would fit. Bottom middle - LW 247.2 KG: Carcan. Pretty happy with this one, even if it is basically beetleweight sized. Very shortl VDMA for the axe and twin slimbodies with colsons for drive, pretty nippy and self rights reasonably well despite being incredibly slab-sided. Axe is only really effective if the wedge is underneath you, which is unlikely to happen due to it not being a skirt hinge wedge. Bottom right - BW 173.9 KG: Blockbuster. The less said about this one the better. Flipper is very powerful for a BW due to it being powered by a VDMA very short. However the bot is extremely unstable when driving and has a very hard time getting under stuff. Pretty much confirms that I can't build for sh** below LW (Though it could easily be argued that I can't build for sh** at any weight class ) And one of my two entries into D.O.T's tournament. My HW is basically a slightly modified version of Ovid II, since renamed to Enceladus. My CW however is entirely new.
It's a wedged VS with a srimech called Sequoia, weighs 591.9 KG, but it's a bit different to the brutus/ witch doctor style. 4WD slimbodies because it's the only thing that would fit. Disc is powered by a Perm 132. Pics below:Exterior: Interior:

That looks really nice actually. Could benefit from DSCs IRL extender packs, and BFEing the axe to swing 180 degrees, but the core design is solid.

In some ways happy Concussion got through because they're an underdog newcomer. In other ways not because they entered Generic McDrumspinner. Sad to see Thor go, though it's easily done enough for the wildcard so far. Wish Speed Squared had performed well for more than 1 fight. And hot damn Heavy Metal's driving in that fight against SS was amazing.
That said, the pit lip really did leave a sour taste in m mouth. It's like the arena was designed by a blind man.

Run-Downs on my bots' performances in the rumbles: Doctor Feelgood: Not too much to say here, although it did FINALLY get an OOTA, and on the champ no less. Hooray!
Subterfuge: Was impressed with how this one performed, particularly against Sallymandra. Was looking good until it decided to bum Raus, leaving it's rear completely exposed to Wrex.
Ground Force: The Titchmarsh Terror: Memes.
Awards Nominations:
Best Robot: Tiny Trident. Love that design of bot and it executed it brilliantly. Worst Robot: Serenity in Murder. A box with a disc. The paintjob can't hide that (Sorry 'Nigma) Coolest Robot: Tor2Ga. It's a turtle. What can I say Unluckiest Robot: Inverter A. I might be biased because I really want to see it do well but I wish it got better luck with the draws. Luckiest Robot:Chaotic Reaction. For a thwack with only a 30 KG hammer it did way better than expected Most Destructive Robot: Ouroboros Least Realistic Robot: Spoider Funniest Robot: Crash. It's splitting in half act was amazing. Most Boring Robot:A Sneaky Poke Best Battle: Sallymandra vs Subterfuge vs Burn vs BSKIB . Seeing Subterfuge actually do what it was intended to do for once was nice, and BSKIB's breakdancing OOTA was cool too.

The way to make this the most competitive is to get rid of the flipper entirely and make it into another tombclone - although I'm pretty sure you don't want to do that. :P
Please post the weight and armour used with your bots, it makes it very hard to recommend upgrades without them.
RIP IRL meta Will post weight and armour in future posts

Here's a bot which is themed after the Curly Wurly chocolate bar. Designed to be a combination lifter/ spinner / thwack. It's a MW and the lifter is powered by an extra small VDMA burst, so it's pretty underpowered. Spinner is a perm 80. Pics below: Exterior: Interior:

PIGLETS FOR DRIVE REEEEEE
Yeah, you already know that piglets aren't the best for drive, so you'll want to be rid of them. The drive legs look cool but aren't super efficient, so if you're more concerned with efficiency then looks, you might want to move the legs further apart, both horizontally or vertically. If not, you'll want to armour the legs more, at least. Typhoon teeth are pretty OP so your weapon choice looks solid. It's certainly an interesting bot.
I'm gonna assume replace the Piglets with NPCs? They might be far enough apart for the bot not to turn into a hurtling ball of "why am I doing please stop."
I'm also assume that I need to lower the machine more.
Making the legs shorter and the chassis slightly wider should make it more stable. You can reduce the amount of batteries you've got in there to get some more weight to play with too if you're near the weight limit.

JSM computer solutions.
Kind of offtopic but, out of interest, how much did you pay?

IN the system requirements it said Windows Millennium was supported.
The ones for stock RA2 may have, but I doubt Click and all the other DSL devs took an OS from the year 2000 into account when making the mod.

(Image removed from quote.) My Updates done to it, make it more diagonal. Also upgraded it to Ti 3
Like Badnik said, the supports for the weapon still needs braces which attach to another point on the chassis. I preferred when it had a DSL disc rather than a Mechavore one too, but that might just be my personal opinion

Unfortunately due to my laptop having a password, I have no choice but to use my old computer (Image removed from quote.) Remember the original Wrecks? on Annihilation Nation it did decently.
The supports for the spinner don't look very...supportive. I'd say they need to be connected to the chassis in more than one position. Looks like you could make that chassis a bit smaller too to save some weight, though it may be come unstable if you make it narrower

Some solace for Feelgood in that fight, though it still failed to live up to the "Can OOTA Opponents" on its statcard, though it did come close a couple of times.

I think it'd look better with a wedge that's the same width as the chassis made using the DSL armour plates. You could get the wedge the same colour as the rest of the chassis then, or pick a colour that better compliments the orange than the black Tornado wedge.
