I have nothing against Nintendo. But, IMO, the Wii and Wii U are horribly underpowered and have sh**ty control systems.
But that is my opinion. Last time I checked, I was entitled to it. Unless I'm in a thread specifically made to voice opinions on the Wii U. Then ian has a nerdrage.
Well, at the time you were extremely aggressive with it. I do also disagree about the Wii having bad controls, but it's irrelevant.

So everyone's hating on me for:
*trying to get attention for my tournaments. *because I liked the old days where people actually gave a sh**.
No, I dislike you because you're a Nintendo fanboy, and you can't recognise (and very much less respect) anyone's opinion that goes against that. Furthermore, then I pointed this out and defeated your arguments, you called me a fanboy and abused teh rep powerz.
You never listen, and you bitch when we call you out.
To be fair, you seem to have rather prejudiced to whatever Nintendo does. Much while I dislike some of the moves they've pulled recently there are moments where you seem to overreact to failures they've had in the past or excessively display an easily argued opinion.

Sad to see some people leave but let's press on.

I don't have anything against you, personally, but you do need to realize that this community just isn't what it was even a year ago. We have nearly reached the boundaries of ways to play this 10 year old game and it's mods. We have explored almost every possibility within reason. For that reason, many members have retreated to the Junkyard because they like this community, even if they don't play the game much anymore. Some of the members that frequent the Junkyard still contribute what they can from time to time, myself included.
I'm afraid that this is the way it's going to be until DSL 3 is released, or until some amazing new discovery is made. This game has lived way past it's intended life span, and is still pretty popular for a PC game of it's age, but it's only a matter of time before it's players get bored and a new crop of players discovers it. Thus the community changes. It's all part of a slow cycle.
The absolute best thing that could happen is a seriously big set of tournaments, BBEANS style. The largest tournaments get the most attention, and hopefully that could kickstart some people into building again.
scrap broke stock. 123 killed dsl. irl is a poop fight...
IRL is le suck for tourneys, but stock's still got potential and so does DSL. Hax Mode can be chosen to be used or not in stock, flails get raped by static piercing weapons (so we just build moar rammers, FS and SS. Variety helps). There is still hope.

Just saying that in my experience when a typically "nice" person tried to take care of the situation here, they have failed.
AHAH! YES MY DIABOLICAL FOE/OCCASIONAL ALLY, THIS FORUM MUST BE RULED BY A FLAMING IRON FIST! Also I dunno about Click. He's been as good as usual when he's been about. Also yes, it would be better not to mention you personal life or self pitty here Ian. Nothing personal since people have done it before and it didn't work well for them.

But that's just as boring. Building a bunch of bots within the community's botched idea of cool is just going to reduce the variation of bots in a tourney. Make more of an effort towards making your bots effective without necessarily sacrificing rule of cool would probably be better.
By cool I'm talking about hybrids, so I don't see how that would cut down on variation.
Ah, fair enough. Still most Hybrids are weaker than standard bot types and are already confined to fairly accepted setups.

Who the said you should only enter bots for "FUN" in tournaments, and that entering to win is a bad thing ? I'm going to punch this guy in the face right now.
What is problematic as a builder, however, is that you are entering a cheap clone of a design without thinking much, instead of coming up with an interesting, original design.
It would be alright if you attempted to IMPROVE the design, but since it's actually worse, the point is moot.
You didn't created or innovated on this design, therefore you have no right to spam it in tournaments.
The idea of bots being built to win being "cheap ass" is discrediting to virtually any effeciency builder. Bumble Bee is arguably cheap but it's still a good bot and well developed, likewise with virtually every flail SnS and so on that people whine about. So yeah, give it a rest Marty.
Coming from the guy who has single handedly made me bored of my own tourney....
Once again, only further discrediting my effort, in this case 3 hours of building and 2 of testing. I'm not going to deliberately make my bots worse just so everyone else has a better chance. If that makes my bot boring, deal with it. Also, sheesh bro, I asked you to up the spin speed of the weapon :P @TRB: the bot is looks okay but as Nary says, you should at least improve the bot your cloning.

DP: nu but, dust maid eit Alu 3, perm 80, 5 ants. Everything else is visible. Slightly troll dances but not drastically. Decent defence and offense.

Pretty creative and deffinantly your style. But yeah not going to be very effective.
It's decent against gutrippers with worse wedges, since it can just move the turret to kill their wheels.

I've had a bad builders block but I'd got something silly and half-effective. I can't remember the armour, perm 80s. It's not really that effective because the weight of the stuff on the servo is quite high, making the chassis move a little bit when I move the turret. Kills wheels, move well inverted, doesn't take damage from spinner or rammers easily.

It's people like you who ruin tourneys. Instead of entering for fun, with the offchance to win, you enter a cheap ass bot that's highly likely to win and kill all of the fun of the tourney and make the hosts life dull.
I hope you're happy.
Yup.
The tourney is done by AI, so the only fun that I can get out of it is by doing moderately well. What's the fun in building a *cool* bot if it's only going to get torn to pieces?

Pokemon, same reasons as everyone else has given thus far. Spyro, same reasons RC gave. Ratchet & Clank, the first two or three games. I liked the technology that you got with them, along with all the various worlds you could travel to. Same kind of thing as Spyro, only more industrial.
I would like to live in video game worlds that were more vibrant, colourful and fun, rather than slathed in gritty browns and greys with mud and soil everywhere. I play video games to escape reality, rather than replicate it, so I'd want to live in video game worlds that followed the same principles.
Some realism would be nice. If I were to actually live in a game world I'd rather have something that doesn't alienate me on the spot. Still, colors and vibrant areas would be nice. Hence Okami I guess.

The BMTH is the only thing worth stamping on your worm-ish form for. The rest I have absolutely no opinion on.
It's not worth stamping on me for, for one simple reason. It's my musical taste, and not yours, and you don't have to even listen to any of it let alone like it. :3
hahah I was kidding son. But srsly try something manlier like Nevermore or something.

I'm afraid I'm a bit behind on my music so there'll be an embarrasing number of best of's here. One day I'll have the proper albums up there.
(Image removed from quote.)
Nice to see a lot of Priest but Turbo? Seriously? Grab yourself some Saxon if you like Priest a lot. also yesh Manilla Road. The Deluge is another one of their good albums. Done, for now. Is appropriate to my opinion right now. Deserves a new post.
Don't like it? Don't care. Get over it. (Image removed from quote.)

I'll be honest, it was hard to decide.

Origin of Symmetry in top 4, with Deftones, Rammstein, RATM and stuff elsewhere? I like you.
Russian Circles was the thing that caught my eye. The rest is eh in my somewhat elitist opinion.
