Fun Fact: I wanted to have SlashBack's flipper skinned like it's skin, but RA2 gave some annoying issues and wouldn't load the texture and instead give a flat white texture instead.  So I gave up for now.  I might fix that before I send it over.
What method are you using to reskin it?
Serge's GMF Compiler.  It's the tool I've always used to skin components since mid September-ish.

If you need help with this, then I can definitely help out with a couple teams.  Is is okay if I claim a team or two so no one else beats me to it?
That will be a no problem
Alright.  I'd like to claim HIGH VOLTAGE then.  I'll work on something and hopefully send something this weekend.  Thanks.

This is kinda nit-picky, but you should probably change the minimum from 249.0 to 249.1 since the former is classified as LW.

I'll enter.  I just need to draft a couple ideas in my head.

I originally wanted to make a special trailer showcasing these next few bots in action, but then  recording these things fight is kinda tedious.  Kind of a shame really.  Ah well, I guess a wall of text and pictures will have to do.

I'm gonna release the ReForged 1.1 patch.  This will not only fix up some that I missed while compiling this pack together, but include one extra team.  In honor of Robot Arena 1's 15th Anniversary coming up on March 24th, I present...

Yeah, very unoriginal name and logo, but it works.

Bot0:

While this is a dangerous trapper that can smash any top armor easily, it can be topheavy and flip easily.

Bot1:

This isn't all that good as it can lose the hammers quite easily, but it's fast and can pin you if that means anything.

Bot2:

I know it looks a bit normal considering it has wedges and barely any saw things at all, but Gammaraze was best at grinding it's opponents and this bot does a great job at that.

Bot3:

Has there even been a decent AW poker, ever?
This one is quite powerful and deadly.  It's only harmed by the singular weapon, even for AW standards, but it's not bad.

Bot4:

It's alright, not spectacular, as there are more stable and better BW VSes.  But it's alright.

Bot5:

I agree, this is probably the least authentic of the six I'm posting.  Why QuadClops?  If I recall correctly, in version 1.0.0.0 of RA1, there was a practice bot known as BiClops, and then in 1.0.0.3, there was TriClops.  Also TriClops was spectacular of offense from all angles, and this does a great job with that as it's extremely dangerous from all sides.

I bet some of you are about to ask these questions:
Q: Why RA1 Bots?
A: DSL's original AI pack featured a fleet of RA1 bots inside, so I thought I should follow suit and honor the game that started it all.  Hence the release date on it's anniversary.

Q: Why not make them all HWs?
A: It would become kinda tedious to make them all HWs and I thought I should keep things consistent for each team.

Q: Why aren't all these god-tier and OP as all hell?
A: Simply, for that I wanted to keep these somewhat beatable, but tough enough for a god enough bot to counter it.  That and I'm not amazing at Ironforge.  D:

Q: Even you are admitting these aren't that authentic to the originals.  Care to give an excuse?
A: I tried my hardest to make some as competitive and keep the bot types varied without resorting to making them all hammers.  If I were to be as authentic as possible, they would be straight up replicas who can't fight crap.

I hope you enjoy what I've built.

Well, if you need help with anything for this ASTC Mod or whatever you want to call it, then let me know of what I can do.

Anyway, these batteries, air tanks and especially the pistons look pretty cool.  Also, is the control board really tiny or are those pistons so damn massive?

We never got a host so we should work on that.
Wait a minute, I thought I asked nicely to do it.  Twice.
I guess when those other challenges are done, can I be the host Thracker and Badger?
Anyone up to host?
Assuming it's the same match I proposed to do, then I can still do that.  If not, then I can do that and this either way.
Sorry to triple quote, but I'm just confused.

But to get back on topic I have both bots AI'd.  Just need to record the match.

Got Badger's bot.  Will look at it soon.

Edit: And I also got Boby's bot.  Both are accepted.  Will get the match hopefully tonight.

I can do a rematch if nobody else wants to go again
Sure. You can pick the arena and weightclass. Promise I won't enter a scum-tier bot this time.
Ring, MW? Cheers bae. Anyone up to host?
This still needs a host if anyone feels like it
Yo.

Other BOTM bot:

So, I was aiming for a homage to Ice Phoenix that is now five years old now (damn, I feel old) with this splash.  I wanted to go with a asymmetric feel with the one wing oppose to two, hence, the One Winged Angel.  I knew I wasn't going to win, but now mine felt worse with the other entrants.

Oh, and I have been working in Ironforge lately with a new ReForged team.  So stay tuned for a special teaser.

definitely not typing that last bit so i won't forget about making them.

Neither of us knew how to ai it :P
Click made a special .py for this certain breed of bot.

TRFBD.py
Sample AI Line:

Code: [Select]
    list.append(("Enter Bot Name","TRFBD",{'invertible':True,'range':5,'radius':1,'topspeed':99,'throttle':100,'turn':100,'turnspeed':1,'weapons':(0,)}))

This should be everything needed for it, although it's useless now since the challenge is done, but ah well.  Speaking of which...

I'm kind of curious to see NAR vs. ERM, but don't worry about it if you're done with grudge matches.  (It would be a fun fight but I'm pretty sure ERM has the edge on stability.)
Even though your a tad late, I can fulfill that request.

Speaking of, those grudge matches are now up.

So, I guess I'll take about my thoughts here.  Overall, I was pretty happy throughout.  I wasn't going to get exactly what I was hoping for with how the ruleset I made for it was, but in the end, it was a good experience.  I also may have said that this was an experimental tournament, but I thought it was an interesting one.  I feel I could've done better, but for what I tried to make work, I thought this was pretty good.  Thanks for everyone who participated in this tournament, and for helping in what I think, may be the last DSL 2.1 tournament that may happen.

Also, there's an Awards Thread that needs votes.  Please vote in it.
