UNOFFICIAL: Ra2 Online League *Opinion*
« on: August 16, 2009, 06:42:22 PM »
****UNOFFICIAL****

As a select [very] few of you know, I have had an official Ra2 League played via Online [Hamachi] Connection for the past year. I have developed a thorough set of rules, regulations, and league functions [NOT on my computer, dont ask to see] that will reveal who the true Ra2 players out in this community are.

I am not giving you any more than that at this point, I just want to listen to everybody's interpretation of what this is going to be, and to hear what suggestions people have for such league.

After reading above post, please post below; whatever you may have to add.

Trust me, this will be huge; bigger than anything else. *I can guarantee it*
====================================================================

Thank you for your help-

The very [currently genial]Infinite.*

Yeah. I want to be able to damage an opponent when I actually hit him.

Im glad you are concerned...

You are indeed right! How fair would it be if one person hosted without lag and the other player had to deal with it?...

Well my friend, there will be a neutral third person host so that both players will deal with the lag evenly, and fairly.

The Third Person Host will perform a number of important measures for this tournament.

You know what would be even better? A completed Brawl of the Builders tourney :P

On topic: I like the 3rd party host idea, but won't the lag pretty much limit the bots to being HS? It's much easier fighting with a HS online than say a popup, because of the less control needed.

I know, but I wanted to wait until Naryar returned.

But yes, the lag issue as you mentioned is very true. Thats why competition will be separated by bot class/genre.

This sounds like fun but I think the lag is gonna make it not fun. idk maybe the third person would help make the lag bearable;)

I'd be fine with it if the lag isn't as bad. I don't wanna have to enter a HS.

If someone can get C33's "non Hamachi" Multiplayer to work, that could be a lifesaver. I really want to show off my driving skillz... =P

There is lag, but the more patient you are in match, the easier it is to deal with.

You dont enter just one bot.

Reier:I'm gonna face condor with that way soon.
JoeBlo:I just can't pinpoint the time when i'm having a match so I'll miss this one.
infiniteinertia:We should do it with IP's and do it in the low lag arena.

Those worried about time zones:

I am awake from 830am to anywhere from 1230 am to 3am on a night where I do not have school. When I have school I am awake from 6am to 1130pm. That's a 16-19 hour day and a 17 and 1/2 hour day. Unless you are awake only the 5-8 hours I am asleep, Im sure there is a way to battle someone in a conflicting time zone if you worked it out.

There will be an official Arena for online play I will put up for download when the league commences.

There will be a seperate arena for Flippers and Dozers.
