That's actually a ring spinner. You axle load the weapon motor and then fit the disk on the now detatched axle.

Questions are good, it means you desire knowledge!
 
Rings Spinners are build by Axle Loading a disc onto the weapon motor, so that it goes through the drive motors and/or wheels. The result is a shell spinner which is invertible, but doesn't have the top protection that a normal SS has.
 
And I'm fine with people making jokes about me, I've become used to them. =) Someone in high school believed I had squirrels living in my hair.
