Ah, sure the uniform systems are annoying, but I do find they serve a purpose. I find they prevent "Fashion Contests" between students, which in turn, also results in a cut in bullying. And although school uniforms do mostly look like embarrassing rags, they also work well for trips out of school, allowing for easy identification in case somebody gets lost, or runs off. All in all, they're not perfect, but uniforms do have their purpose, I feel.

They didn't have uniforms when I was in grade school, but if they did, I can see my classmates continuously coming in with street clothes on, making the excuse "my uniform was dirty/ripped etc"  How does your school deal with that?

The uniform system is dumb. If the kids at your school participate in such "fashion contests" then they are ****ing retards and you should change your school. Running of school trips? Come on, is it ****ing second grade or what?

Instead of fixing the effect (by introducing unforms) they should fix the origin of the problem (kids being complete idiots) by making them into responsible adults.

But no, nanny state is so much better.

Well, my school is a Private Secondary School, so the policies on uniforms are strict, to say the least. I mean, they could punish you for wearing your tie too short or wearing non-regulation jewellry. And that's only a taster! I can see why they want the uniforms perfect though. I mean, uniform isn't cheap at my school!

Ouch. No offence, but that was pretty harsh.

You guys are all acting like education is a burden. Believe me, one day you will regret not paying more attention at school and not willing to learn more.

hah, Our school has a uniform code, but since they couldn't combat half the school being defient, they changed it to Black and White Shirts, T-shirts, Cardigans... Black skirts, Jeans, whatever and Black shoes. anyone can wear a tie, but it must be purple, for the schools colour.

You guys, learning stuff is essential to life. I hate to see people with the mind-set that expanding your mental awareness is somehow a 'burden', or 'useless'. Serge was mentioning to me (IM) how we all tend to have that maligned mind-set when we're in the lower levels of schooling.... and it's true we do. But learning more about reality is probably the most important thing one can do as an individual. Even if it's outside of school, like reading (non-fiction) books, is helpful. And not just about one little category/subject, but about all categories of learning, so as to have a more complete picture of things. In expanding beyond one little area, we can learn 'how' to think and reason by seeing the connections between different areas of knowledge, instead of being told 'what' to think in a little shell (for an occupation only).
I can only appeal to you guys that to stay ignorant, or in one little category of what there is to learn, or to stop learning new things ever, is a terrible mistake. As the saying goes "A mind is a terrible thing to waste."
Input is appreciated. :)

Tell that to those who were loaded onto the 'relocation' trains,...............to Auschwitz.

Ignorance may 'feel' good, but it makes nothing actually good. Drunk drivers don't make things better, but worse.
And also, ignorance allows 'predators' to thrive through propagandizing the ignorant. It's happening today, to due the wide acceptance of this quoted misnomer....

That is an awful and tasteless comparison you made. They were forced by nazis to get on those trains, and were told by them it was relocation, just so that they wouldn't flip out like if they were told they were being concentrationcamp'd.

Oh, and EPIC 404 post count.
