Anyone know of a laptop with an integrated 9800 series card? That would run it.

I'm considering purchasing an Alienware computer. It turns out they aren't nearly as expensive as I've always heard they were.
im just waiting for meganerdbomb to come along and kick things into gear.

Because all hardware is built by apple (for the most part) meaning everything fits together much more nicely and the Intel processors and graphics cards are usually top notch. But the Mac OS sucks, so install windows 7 on it.
You got my vote for RA2 Wizard. Always and forever.

anyone have some graphics/ video card suggestions ? (from people that actually know what they are talking about and not just listing what is in there friends computer)

My current hardware..

CPU Speed: Intel Duel Core, 2.39 GHz Performance Rated at: 3.585 GHz

RAM: 2gb

OS: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build 2600)

Current Video Card: Intel(R) GMA 3100

Video RAM 384.0 MB
Pixel Shader version 2.0

I want nothing worse obviously, something good, compatible, with Hardware T&L and Vertex Shader version 2.0 (at least) and probably not to expensive.

any thoughts?

That is absolute bullsh**.

Apple doesn't "build" their hardware. A Mac is just a PC with a TPM (trusted platform module) so it is allowed to be running OS X. It's the same manufacturers who make components for them and for any other computer company.

A component is a component - doesn't matter who are they made by (actually, most components are made by the same manufacturers - realtek, samsung, amd, nvidia, intel), and they all follow standards. A Gigabyte motherboard is gonna work with a Sapphire graphics card the same way an Asus motherboard will work with a ENVGA graphics card or an Asus motherboard with an Asus graphics card. Why? Because it's the same design (for graphics cards) and the same chips (for every computer component). Companies who sell components usually buy designs from chip manufacturers (unless they overclock their components), slap their logo onto it and ship it.

Looks like you have an old slow computer, and just about ANY video card will be better.

Just get an ATI based video card in your budget range and it will be much better than you have.

BS SURE to check what type slot you have ......like AGP, PCI, PCI-E as they do not interchange.

You need way more RAM. It's cheap these days, get at least 4GB. Also, new graphics card.

You'll need to make sure your motherboard and power supply can run those things. Ram doesn't use a lot of power add as much as your OS can support. But high powered video cards can use hundreds of watts, and a new i7 probably won't be supported by something that old.
