Google Chrome is now officially better than Firefox.

Gawww.... Noodle beat me to it. I was just about to post this:
Chrome has both speed dial and mouse gestures in its list of extensions. It also has themes which work similarly to FF personas.

Until recently, IE has always come pre-installed on new computers (now your seeing Chrome on some). Although I don't have any recent studies, I can say that at one point IE was the slowest and least secure of the three browsers.

FF is a neat browser with the most features but it isn't as practical as Chrome IMO. Personas are neat but can't be combined with themes (so they are essentially pictures with the default icons on top). In terms of quantity of addons, FF has Chrome beat.

Chrome is the newest and least mature of the three. For that reason, people seem to experience the most problems with Chrome. Chrome is the fastest and most secure of the three. Chrome has most of the good addons from FF; as well as having its own gems.

Actually, IE9 is very, very nice. If I hadn't known about Chrome, I would prefer this over FF.

how safe is it ? previous IE's were known for not being as secure as Chrome or FF

IE fails, its slower and not as cool looking. GC is TOO simple. might be faster by a tad but FF has all the gadgets (speed dial, mouse gestures, personas, etc.)

funny enough, despite me using FF I think of it as....

Chrome > FF > Screenshot of a website in Paint > IE

but Chrome had that screw up thingo due to the way the installer works.. I am yet to download and try it again with the new version. my other computer has Chrome on it though.. I just barely use that computer :P

I run bare FF right now.. all the little novelty things are fun to start with but you load your FF up and it gets slower and slower when really I go on the internet for viewing websites so Speed > Novitiates.

Also, it doesn't slow my PC down.

1 theme doesnt.. but load on heaps of addons and themes, etc then wait for a new FF update and your in for a world of waiting :P

I downloaded Chrome when it first came out. I didn't like the interface of it, mainly because I'm used to the Safari interface, but since I just use my school laptop, my school is obsessed with the browser Camino, which is far, far worse. So Im giving Chrome a second shot.

I've got Chrome going at the moment, and I can't see a massive difference in page loading times than IE. But you can see more of the page, it's not cluttered up by useless toolbars at the top. Which is useful. I'll wait a few days until I pass full judgement, however.

I didn't know that (or notice it for that matter).  However, if you're right it'd be a gradual change.

I recall reading somewhere it starts using history to load parts that haven't changed on a website so it only focuses on new stuff..

or something like that ?

I read it when I ran into the problem of looking at a website and not seeing the changes when I was told there was a new home page article... deleted the temp files, cookes, etc then it loaded the new article (it doesnt do this often but it was a small issue I got)

Firefox was laggy for me, so I changed it to Chrome, and I have to admit, that Chrome is really better!
