Bit of a nostalgia overload...
Hey guys!! :)
Really sorry I havent been on here in AGES. Been busy, plus I have a tendency to leave a project when I'm halfway through it (I still have 2 more Sims 3 EP's I was gonna do waiting to be finished!). Work on this since my last post has been... Miniscule. Petite. Tiny.
However, I was reminded about this as I have decided to do an advert for this as part of my BTEC Media work. So we may have an advert soon for an unfinished project (Yay......

)
I have tried however on many an occasion to do the odd little bit, however my 3DSM 5 isnt working (i'll post details later - I'm writing this from a College Media lesson atm).
Anyway, just letting you all know what's going on :) Had a quick skim through the messesages in this thread and it looks like a lot of you have been doing some much needed tweaking work. Much appreciated!! Later on I'll have a closer look through the last few messages and might ask one or two of you if you wouldnt mind being my right hand guys (or gals, if any have joined since I've been away!).
Shall post more later about situation and error with 3DSM, and hopefully if we can get that sorted out, we might get to being 3/4's of the way finished! (Yay!!!)

Ok, so, the problem I'm having with 3DSM5 is the usual Error: loading cdilla dll

I've done it before but cant remember how to now. Any help?

Glad you`re back.

Is this just me or did you make the AI more agressive against human players? It feels like the AI is more likely to attack me then another AI even when the other AI bot is right next to them. and I`m not talking bout team mode

Can you use the GTM uploader? I can't even get past through all the countless ads to download it on my laptop. Same goes for the arena.

Thanks for the download links! I'm loving the arena! The AI robots are nicely done as well, especially the older robots like Roadblock and Killertron!

The only problem I have is that it seems to be a lot harder to add my own AI bots, I hope that gets fixed in a later version.

There's nothing to fix - it's just like any other version of RA2 :) What's the issue you've got?

Well, when I installed DSL, the bindings.py file had all of the robots in order from the first bot in the first team, to the last in the last team, and there were spaces between each team, so it was easy to understand, it also commented on which teams were which. When I installed this pack, however, all the robots in the list all seemed to be mixed up and don't seem to be in any order so it's confusing.

Also, I'm not sure if I should be asking this here, but is it possible I add new AI teams? It must be, because from all the mods I've installed in the past, I have ended up with over 100 team folders (Seriously, the folders I have go up to team105!), but this pack is only using the 15 it came with, which makes sense. I love all of the AI bots it came with, but I would love to watch my own AI fight them.

It's the same as Stock RA2 - just replace the one you want as you would DSL. Order doesn't matter.

And yes, it is possible. I'm pretty sure that's in a tutorial somewhere, but I'll jot it here.

And yes, it is possible. I'm pretty sure that's in a tutorial somewhere, but I'll jot it here.

Basically, you need to add another team to the Teams.txt file, using the same layout as the others - just copy paste a full Team entry in this file to the end, change the index number, team name and description, and make sure the Robots: 0 1 2 line has the appropriate number - eg if the team has 1 robot only (just Bot0 in the new Team folder you will have to make) the line will be Robots: 0 while if it was 2 the line would be Robots: 0 1. Then just add your bindings to the bindings.py file, it doesn't matter where in particular and put the appropriately named bots into your new folder (eg for this mod your first new team will be index 15, so a Team15 folder with Bot0 etc in). PM me if you've got any more issues :)

Oh right, that's cleared that up, thanks! I'll PM you if I have any problems.

Actually, another issue I'm having with this mod, is that some of my robots have had their controls mirrored, like down would be for going forward and left and right are switched around, and even if the controls aren't doing that, they eventually do in a random right, and this has only started happening when I installed the mod.
I was playing a tournament in RA2 (one the ones you go to by going to robot workshop) recently with a robot to pass the time, and it's controls were normal. Then suddenly, when I entered a tabletop tournament, the controls got reversed, I never edited the robot in any way between that fight and the one before it, what is causing that?

I've also made RA2 versions of the non real robots found in the AOD and ED games :) Just to fill up the spaces :P

I'll most likely post pics as I go along, however here's some of the things I have so far, or am hoping to achieve:

-Normal 13 teams, consisting of a lightweight and heavyweight robot based on those found in AOD and ED, and the 3rd HW spot taken up by a replica bot. There might also be a couple of extra teams for other bots, e.g. House Robots, Antweights, ect.

-A few more new arenas (i'm sure most of you have seen my work in my RW arena thread)

-New UI based on the RW Games

-Some new music has been done inspired on the games (Even replaced the hopp_club music with the results music from RW)

Basically I want to try and make an AI pack that is a cross between RA2 and the RW games :P
However I'll need a couple of helping hands :)
I'd like to ask GF and Ducky to help as they've been massive helps already :P
I'll need:

-Good UI'ers

-Some people to make good skins for the non-real RW robots

-Some good Arena/GMF creators (To turn my arena meshes into working arenas, Click's already working on the RW arena itself)

I'm mostly working on the replicas and robots themselves, and trying to organise as many things as possible :P
So... anyone fancy helping out? :) Other than that... stay tuned :P
