What are you excited for of the robots in this AI Pack?
I don't know much in terms of real robotics but I like the looks of X-Terminator.

Razer is one of the few bots that I remember rooting for on TV so I'm also looking forward to fighting a more accurate version of it in RA2.

Gonna  agree with the X-Terminator shout. Should be good to fight a competent Typhoon too.

Anyway, I would like to ask you guys something about the AI pack:
What are you excited for of the robots in this AI Pack?
I like the looks of a lot of them, myself- particularly with Suicidal Tendencies, X-Terminator, Chaos 2, Plunderbird 5, Terrorhurtz, and the American robots. I'm also particularly looking forward to seeing the new Razer, Mortis, and Cassius II once they're ready.  :P

The new robot wars arena should be good, and most of the replicas look amazing.

for the tabs you could use iconic stuff from robot wars like the behemothscoop is already the symbol for extras. Razers claw could be the one for weapons. Some fancy extenderwork like the one on The Spider could be extenders. The fallen off battery from The Mechanic could be the one for Power. Wheely Big Cheeses Wheel for the wheels and some motor that was iconic for beeing  exposed on top of a bot could be motors. can`t think of one right now

akshaylan That looks amazing!!! :D As for the component catergories, it could be an idea to use a couple of the little symbols seen on the robot stats screens in AOD?

Like the shield could be used for extras (Even though I'm mostly going to be using that menu for pure decorative items and smart zones - all things like Behemoths scoop ect. come later in the weapons menu), the wheel obviously mobility, the exhaust...motors? the controller maybe power and the mallet for weapons? Just an idea :P
As for the colour of the text, is there maybe something in the gib files? Like a hex colour code?
Damn I should probably put something fancy in this bit huh?

Both ideas are good and if either of them are done right I'm sure they will look good. Just a couple of things though:

For Thyrus':
I have a feeling that mixing both cartoon/non-photographs and photographs together might end up looking a little odd/unprofessional (not saying that I am professional!)

For WhamettNuht's:
Should be easy enough to do, but did Ducky ever upload the UI for AoD? Never Mind, found them (What ever happened to him? It's like he's vanished...)

Another option I considered was to keep the same images but replace the brownish, rusty backing with some chevron or something.

And I tried editing some of what looked like the colour codes in the .gib files and they all stayed the same.

I was going for ingame versions of it, not screenshot from youtube or something. but I guess not having The Mechanic and The Spider in this makes this not quite working

What I don't get, Thy', is that you say "iconic stuff", and then mention The Spider, and The Mechanic (who the hell is The Mechanic?). Not really "iconic", hah. You baffle me!

I was just thinking of a batterie the was kinda famous. The Mechanic was a robot that had only one fight (against Supernova or Hypnodisc I think) during the fight it`s battery was ripped out and was shown laying on the arena floor.
As for the spider it just poped in my head when I was thinking about extenders

Thyrus - I think you mean Mechaniac. The battery didn't fall out, it just hung out. The Predator however, in it's only ever battle it's battery fell out.
G2 from the featherweight competition's battery fell out too.

Wow...lot to catch up on...
First things first:

(Image removed from quote.)

Second of all, no 'modern day' robots will be included (only the versions that where in Robot Wars itself). I may do another RR AI pack, but it's very unlikely that I will.
Dang, I need to learn how to get a dome like that! Great work! (Man, I am SO late).
Mostly a lurker and Sm4sh Bros. player nowadays. :3

Hi guys...

I know I haven't posted anything for ages, but there is a reason why...
A recent glitch with my computer has left me with certain files and folders deleted from my computer.... one of which was that of this AI pack.
I'm determined to still do this AI pack, however since I've lost everything, it might not be for another few months, and the quality may be either drastically improved or downgraded....

I'm really sorry to be the barer of bad news, but unfortunately I don't know what happened and why it did, but at this stage it looks like I may have to start over again...

Really sorry :/
Damn I should probably put something fancy in this bit huh?

Aw man... It's shame that there was no backup or anything... Good Luck Wham, I hope you will be succesful with this.

Also, if Craaig still has that arena of yours, can I use it in Robot Wars Series 9 tournament?

Ugh, why do computers have to be like this?

Have you tried some software to recover the files?

This is surely an excuse. How many people on GTM have recently had computer problems, where everything is deleted? You guys should all stop with the porn. Jesus!
