I've also just had an idea to improve the accuracy of Behemoth's axe. Considering that it's currently on a burst motor (And therefore has limited range), perhaps it could utilise something like Overkill's hammer motor to swing around in a 240-degree arc from the top of the frame to the bottom of the scoop? I was thinking this sort of trajectory-

It could be limited to that trajectory in a similar way to how the Servos for Razer's claw or That Darn Dustpan!'s arm currently are- that way, it could swing all the way around without it spinning wildly. It's a pretty good method- I've used it for my Mortis replicas to good effect, so perhaps it could be something to consider?

First off, to get the axe to work with the motor set up when AI'd is currently not possible due to there being no THZ/Flipper AI yet.

And second, the axe acctually works really well already. The scoops burst doesnt have a lot of force behind it, meaning that when Behemoth catches an opponent in the bucket, the axe can hit the other robot pretty well. It's hard to explain, but despite being on a burst, the axe does work extremely well as it is :)
Damn I should probably put something fancy in this bit huh?

Ah, OK. Just a suggestion, that's all- I was thinking along the lines of the DSL2 replica, and so I assumed the axe worked in a relatively similar way.

Good to hear it's working better, though. Perhaps the method could be salvaged for a Mortis replica? If it could be AIed in a similar way to the Beta/Frenzy axes, it replicates the fast effect of the Tanto Axe very well.

Newest replica in progress:

(The mace is just temporary atm)

The domes have been a b**** to do, but I'm already really happy with this one :D

Quick question though, does anyone know how to add more of a shine or reflection to a component? The shine strength for the domes is already set at 0.900000 but still not as shiny as I'd like. Any help?

Stinger? Ah, fantastic! As a fellow Lincolnshire-ian, it's great to see it here, too. It's looking very good so far, so it should certainly be great once the bludgeoning spike and shiny domes are ready.   :claping

Ahhh thanks  :gawe:

But in all seriousness, it might not be for a little while. Before I can release it I need the UI to be completely finished, a few more replica bots done, and I'd love to include the robots from the upcoming RW Tournament I'm doing in the pack :)

On a note of replicas, guess who's FINALLY gotten the ASE method to work, and has made his first replicas component:

This has managed to open up quite a few doors to me now. For example, here is a preview of my LW entry to said RW tournament that will use a custom component that will be available to all in the game (and tournement when it's working properlly :P)

Just need to sort out the shadow problem with this claw and it should hopefully all be ok :P From there then I can hopefully work on a Suicidal Tendencies replica, maybe Kan Opener, the possibilities are endless :P

That Stinger replica is awesome. I really hope it doesn't havok due to the small chassis.

It doesnt :) I also moved the wheels inwards a bit as they looked too far apart for my liking originally. Looks better now :P

Also, I have fixed teh claw!!! :D

Just need to do a medium and large size and they will be available for the RW Comp :)
