Chassis pack?

Dammit I voted for the wrong thing.
I hate this idea with a burning passion as bright as the sun. BUILD YOUR OWN BOTS!
I don't really hate it that much I just wanted to use that expression that I heard. Although I do think that you should have to build your own bots because this would start an influx of noobs being able to build a strong bot when they shouldn't be able too.
I built that big robot on that TV show that time

Can't we just make a 'pre-stacked' black or something, and make it a legal component in stock? Like just the same batteries with double the weight/power

Then people would be stacking the stacked components, and we would have to make a 4x black, etc..

If people do eventually start using pre-stacked chassis crap, I think I'll forget about RA2, it will lose the hard work making a bot. Then everyone will be able to make good bots, I don't like that, you gotta work to make good bots! NOT use starters from other builders. That is LAME!

You guys are becoming little babies. I can't believe it Naryar, how can you support this retarded idea?
S32: Why did you have to make this thread? Are you just trying to wreck this game to pieces??? :pissd:

I disagree, Duck. Nice idea, S-32 to poll this. Always good to get a consensus.
My input; I tend to agree that one should do it one's self and 'build your own bot'. Here, for those who need it:

.
Input is appreciated. :)
-Arrogance is a quantity devoid of quality...
-As a client once told me "This is my story, and it's sticking to me!"
-Relationships these days are like the 'Arrival' section of the airport: a lot of baggage is being revealed in one place, and not a lot of it is being correlated to its real owners...

Since you can already take any bot from any AI Pack and use its chassis, this isn't going to give noobs anything they couldn't already get. So it is ridiculous to think this will change things forever in a horrid way.

I have to agree there, its easy for people just to take AI robots from packs with the double stacked batteries

The problem I can see with this is people becoming to reliant on the chassis pack and having a heap of robots that are much the same

Joe: That's why I have several counter measures.

Chassis space. There will be plenty of space left in the pack, so 36 HS, etc will have to be made by hand. The pack is purely made as a starter kit to those who are still learning and those who haven't had the good fortune to have such a pack that can stack so easy. (No, sage, I've listened to all your advice, spent 6 hours, changed the angles a billion times and used more chassis than naryar has used Razors, and I still can't stack anything bigger than an anchor.)

I think it'd help for those who wish to start out with RA2, and then they may look at robots that compete well to see what they want to build. Either way, bots that are already up for download can be easily modified. I admit that I've studied some of the bots and why they are built this way. Heck, I even have a few for people to study in the AI Pack (such as SCRAMJET and PlayMaker, which I forgot about).

For those who don't agree. You have valid points, but it's not going to help if other robots can be downloaded and redesigned. That alone is also a tool to learn, but also a tool to just have a bot built easily. It can be done already. Having a chassis pack wouldn't do much more harm than already done with downloaded bots that are built with great power and performance.

If a chassis pack is to be made, maybe it would help to have them be less effective than the better competing chassis. It would also help to just have the control unit and the drive train set-up so that people don't have to take time to line up the wheels. However, they will still fall prey to the better competing designs due to their efficient amount of well used space.

I was going to type this yesterday... but it seemed lame at the time.  However, now that I have thought about it some more I will toss the idea out there.

How about tournament hosts offering awesome stacked chassis' as prizes for tournaments?  I, honestly, would think that would be a great prize for winning. To get a trim chassis with 3 stacked blacks & a CB or something... all primed and ready to make an awesome HSer or something.  I dunno... Just a thought.

Afterthe components didn't work (as in, when added did squat), I gave up. Not removed, just suspended while I work on other things.
