Looks like it would run out of juice super fast, but it doesn't really matter if it has a decent wedge like every other bot in IF

i don't remember the exact battery stats in IF but is it not possible to widen your wheel base and put some better batteries in there ? I would assume the larger batteries are more efficient weightwise than the smaller ones.

Although I may be mistaken.

big batteries in IF are more efficient in electotal but less in amps so for bots that kill opponents quickly you probably need smaller ones. they're also lighter.

BOT DUMP

LW- FOUR FIST PHIL, it has four fists. Hence the name. Great at deweaponing but trash against anything with a wedge.




MW - thirteem blapck. HS + Poker hybrid. Putting the HS on a piston gives the spin motor more speed like you'd see in stock, I'm pretty sure this is still realistic since it nothing ever intersects. Firing the piston also gives me a "press X to bumbleball" button.




MW - I WHUPPED BATMAN'S ASS. Regular flying guillotines generally don't work in ironforge. Pistons are too powerful, which flips over the FG. Servo pistons work fine though. It can cheese anything that's stable/slow enough. Ninja stars having frequency increases it's DPS significantly.



HW - father daughter brunch and robotic combat. VS + Poker hybrid. The combination of spinning weapons and thrusting weapons results in  lot of damage. It's also good at getting OOTAs when faced against a weapon-heavy VS/HS.



HW - Walrus 2. Generic poker. 5 30kg hammers. Nothing to really note here.



HW - Umurguncy. Named as such because it contributes to the U shaped chassis trend that people don't seem to like. In reality I just wanted to make a bot with dual car steering. It's wired so that it drives like a regular robot. I tried utilizing left/right controls but it just gave it a big turning circle.



LW - YUUUUUGE. Ironforge equivalent to the big LW VS fad going on in DSL. It can punt.  It maulers about as much as you think it would when one of the hammers comes off (read: a lot).

Haven't actually tested this one too much yet, but it seems to do well against HS and terribad against other VS.

I'm probably going to rename it "Barbershop Chop 2" if I enter this into a tourney, since that's basically what it is.

I'm a liiiittle skeptical on some of those axle loads though like on walrus and umurgency, I take a less strict approach than some people on the realistic rule and that's pushing it a bit thin even for me

really diggin the 2 HW VS tho. piston HS is pretty funny too.

I meant like the 5 hammers on walrus and the panels on umurgency which are both almost completely overlapped. I know you "can weld them together" but it seems a bit of a slippery slope when it basically takes the same space and does 5x damage.

Anyways, with 13 Black can't you use the servo piston so that you can extend the HS whenever you want and totally cheese Popup.py ?

edit: it's named Luka now ya pedant. I'll think about putting a spinner on a servo piston.

I think face spinners are actually the worst bot type in Ironforge. Not that they were exactly that good to begin with in stock/DSL, but the massive amount of weapons with normals really make it so that you only have about 2 viable weapons to use on FS, and razors suck hard on just about anything, so you're just stuck with spamming beaters.



Jugglers are also stuck in the same problem as FS, but at least you can kind of use some of the weapons with normals. This one has a wedge and therefore can beat other wedges sometimesoccasionally. Wedge is alright but not the best. Definitely performs better than the FS though.

It's basically like a typical clamp, but with a giant-ass piston instead of your typical second burst motor. It doesn't havok itself into oblivion like one would think. It hardly ever actually clamps, but other than that it's decent for what it is. Wedges (and damage!) are surprisingly good. No idea what's with the weird AGOD-type thing going on with the piston axle, but it can't be helped I suppose. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I also built some other robots:



This one I really like. I bet Naryar will as well, but when he likes a robot it usually involves hand lotion or some other kind of lubricant. Notice that it has no wheels at all. That's because the pistons in IF are powerful enough to propel the entire robot forward, even when half the robot's weight is invested into weaponry on the pistons. Fire one piston to go to the left, the other to go to the right, and both to move forward. It was designed to go full Fist of the North Star on opponents, but deweaponing them is fine too.



Made the most painfully generic HS in Ironforge. It's literally just a box with a spinner attached. Now all I need to do is make 89 other robots like this, come up with some absolutely cringeworthy bot names + team mottos and finally I will be able to make ASAI: Ironforge edition. bazinga [painfully forced laugh track]



How this one works is that robots hit the front and then the axles swing into the other robot while the pistons do piston things. It goes about as well as you think it would. Main problem here is that the pistons sometimes spaz out and be as unrealistic as possible. It's basically a lesson to not get too #YOLO with pistons. It does a lot of damage because lolicepicks but very obviously isn't realistic. It's more of a WIP than anything, really.



It's a hammer. It hammers things. I mean hammers will never reach the point where there's a few generic designs like the case with popups or HS, but there isn't really much to say about it. Hammers along with flippers and pokers are definitely better in IF than they are in other mods, with hammers in particular benefiting from longer weapons, burst motors that won't make your hammer robot do a quintuple backflip, and being able to be really wide (although to be honest this is pretty narrow compared to some other robots).
This is also to my tribute to the fallen soldier, Ffffffriendmeister. RIP in peace, may Jaydee's your hardcore bants live on in the hearts of others. We'll make sure to play Highway to Hell at your funeral.
