has anyone here played team fortress classic?
Haven't played it myself, but I've seen footage of it, and it looks pretty good.

Too bad they couldn't let Pyro keep that Napalm Cannon, though- it would've been great for blowing Jonzu's nads off

doesn't the various flare guns kind of make up for it?

Not really...that's like saying a Pea Shooter can easily replace a BFG.

You'll see me in there mostly as the red engineer.  Same nametag minus the 24c.  Can't seem to play on multiplayer though.  Every time I try the game basically has a seizure and I get stuck in a corner unable to move.  The Engineer fits my style of fighting and since I'm also from Texas, I just can't help but play as him.

Battlebots 7: LW Quarterfinals - Voltergeist
Battlebots 7: MW Quarterfinals - Dr. Demolition
Battlebots 8: MW Quarterfinals - Dr. Demolition
Battlebots 9: HW Quarterfinals - Texas Tornado
Battlebots 9: Middleweight Champion - Dr. Demolition
Minor Inconveniences: Runners-up - Hot Rod/Voltergeist
TGRR2 IRL: Texas Tornado 11 wins - 10 losses

Sounds like standard engie procedure to me

My strategy as the Engineer is to get a dispenser up to level 3 status asap at the back of the battlefield, then right next to it, assemble a level 3 sentry.  I then pack up the dispenser to the front lines where it can be found by my teammates but out of sight of the enemy.  While that's charging, I go back and get the sentry and when it gets to the battlefield, I try to get it in a high place where it has a clear view of the battleground and if possible such as on a cliff or behind a capture point, and if possible, get into a bottleneck where the opposing team has nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.  I also try to keep close to the sentry and plenty of metal on hand, and I can spot spy's very easily so don't even think about sapping my equipment.

Try me. I always get the engy nest when playing spy. Just ask craaig. :3

Also, you're a bad engie for not setting up a tele.

Yeah, I'm pretty good at the whole Spy-spotting thing because I main Pyro, but Marty is an excellent spy. We do have some awesome sap/break-sapper battles though sometimes, all the meanwhile I gotta watch my back, literally :P

And yeah tele is numero uno all the time. Metal can be found for buildings. Teammates cannot be 'found' for battles when they're running miles to the battlefield.

But the question is, when do you have time to place BOTH entrance and exit tele ? while this question isn't very tormenting for normal engie's, time's when you can place an exit tele is very limited for a battle engie (Enginners that use the Gunslinger meele).

If you get killed and you're running to the battlefield, placing a tele even a little closer to the field will help your teammates and stop you looking like a selfish non-team-player. This isn't COD. TEAM fortress. Just drop it somewhere safe/hidden on your way up, then leave it. It's done.

Well I've been changing up classes a little and been using a character who can splatter the insides of an enemy's head onto a wall from far away.  It's the Sniper.  Currently using a gun known as the Machina, when playing as him I try to find a good vantage point where I can pick off multiple targets.  And if anyone happens to spot me or the point falls, I always have an escape route planned.  I also keep my back to the wall in case a Spy sneaks behind our lines and tries to backstab me.  I have had one try to do that and I filled him full of lead with the Sniper's secondary weapon, a SMG.  I immediately knew he was a Spy because he was disguised as me.  My guess is he was going to kill me and then pose as me and fool my teammates where he possible could have killed several of them with that revolver he had.
