High speed internet was widely available in Japan long before the US. The Dreamcast was just before it's time...Can you imagine what a Sega console for this generation may have been like?Yeah I can imagineBTW does the PS2 count as a retro console now that it's out of production?

Yeah, you can easily use the 'PS2 isn't retro because it doesn't have 8-bit and cartridges' logic (which is somewhat true, PS2 and Xbox isn't retro) to say that the PS1 isn't retro either, and I'd certainly say it's pretty classic.
hmm then what of the GBA?
I disagree with this. While not as old as some others, the PS1 is pretty retro.

Retro/Classic Gaming - Anything video game related that was released during the PlayStation/Nintendo 64 era or before. The only newer generation system accepted into this category would be the Sega Dreamcast. This is how the classic gaming community defines it's self.Discuss all things that fit this definition in this thread.
Anyone here ever get an Atari Jaguar? I remember seeing those in the stores at the end of their life. I could have gotten a new one for $30... Been regretting it ever since. Had I known eBay and the internet explosion was right around the timeline corner, I totally would have snagged that $30 Jag. q.q
