Unlocked Spade today. Mission 7 (hard) was last to beat, and it took FOREVER. I finally beat it when I killed Black Shadow at the start (not the immediate beginning but near the wall-less part), then hanging in the top 10 until the last stretch, where a mine helped me boost past Blood Falcon to win (it helped that he was spinning as I went by) :D

Uhh, I played F-Zero X on a N64 emulator a while ago. It is definitely the most epic game I've ever played! Going to play it again after posting.

I'm probably going to get this one too.

I don't know if F-Zero X is easy or I just learn quickly. I began playing yesterday and I can now beat all three cups in Standard. I haven't tried Expert yet though...

I will play F-Zero GX once I either beat this one or get tired of it.

Expert cranks the difficulty up a notch, but as long as you know the tracks you'should be ok.

Also in GX some cars handle differently than their X versions. Just a heads-up.

What cars do you normally use in-game?

Ok, thanks.

I've been just using the Golden Fox for a rather obvious reason, haha... But I'd use anything that's got a great boost and crappy grip.
I noticed drifting around corners increases your speed, which is a plus for me as I like doing that.

Night Thunder isn't that fast but it has a good boost, honestly you need something faster top speed wise.

Hmm, right, but how am I supposed to know what cars have better top speed? The Body stat?

Oh, and my computer struggles to run F-Zero GX at any more than 5 FPS.

yeah emulators can't really run GX.

Just test each car on-track to find their top speed. Big Fang and Fire Stingray are both pretty fast and have good grip. The Body stat dictates how many hits a car can take.

Also I'm competing in an F-Zero Gx league on GameFAQs. After 2 races I'm 6th out of 7, but only because I haven't won a heat yet.

According to the pros it's the 2nd best car after the Hawk.

Yeah but I'm assuming that Larrain isn't a pro. Coming 12th at Figure Eight kinda proves that IMO.

Ahaha, I can do well on Standard, I managed to finish first in all tracks on all four currently unlocked cups last time I tried.

However on Expert I can only beat the King Cup at 3rd overall position, as for Jack and Queen I'm often at the middle. Not sure why, maybe very swingy tracks are my strength...

I tried Big Fang among a few, it was the one I performed the best with at Mute City 1. Still 6th though ._.

And I've been using the Night Thunder because it suits my style pretty well (like the Golden Fox, which IMO looks better D:). I'm not sure about what does weight do, so I chose it over the Blood Hawk by looks :P

Yeah if only you had more cars, there are some great ones on the botom two rows.

Maybe try the Twin Noritta?

Didn't do any better with that, but thanks :P

I was a little pissed off today, and seeing how I play with a keyboard on a emulator I senselessly dropped the analog range of my movement keys down to 30% and managed to arrive 1st at Expert Figure 8 on my first try (with the Golden Fox if that changes anything). I'm going to play with that thing more often since I don't have any analog sticks :P
