Robot Wars Virtual
« on: July 20, 2011, 04:07:29 AM »
Yep, I'm starting my next unofficial tournament. This is kinda "illegal" so I'll make website for this.Tournament is based on Stock Middleweight, with Realistic Designs and Replicas.I'm planning to get all the Famous RW bots into this, from the RW AI pack but only problem is that I don't want them to use custom components. I've already modified 13 Black, Atomic and 259 into Full Stock versions, but Hypno Disc and Chaos 2 are problems for example... Advice is always welcome.

Unofficial tournaments may not accept submissions from other people.

Chaos 2- use ramplates
Hypno-  just use a HPZ and make it fit somehow

Do you know how to BFE?  Snapper loading can only do so much.  And do you want Das Gepack?  It can be converted to stock pretty easily.

Would Hypno-Disc work with a RAD Weapon Motor? It might be slow, but it'd be accurate.

No. I don't know how to BFE at all. and I want Hypno-Disc would have Z-Tek (HP)... If someone can redo some RW AI pack Robots into Normal Stock bot, that would be appriciated. Also, I'm gonna put the Entry list to first post soon...

I don't think Hypno-Disc would be possible in that way, even with BFE. An HPZ is just far too tall to be have the disc low enough to the ground. A RAD would give the right height, but would be too slow. It's just not possible without at least .txt editing.

Still too tall, probably. I think a RAD would be almost the right height, personally, but it depends on the scale of the robot.

You need RW AI pack from the Downloads section to get them work.

Are they like regular stock, or do they have custom components, these BOT files?

Yeah, That.
Thought so. The Razer and Behemoth reps competed in AON1, if I recall correctly.

Whilst I was also in the game, I also got my first taste of text file editing by changing around the team names and mottoes. One of my favourite changes was changing "Destruction (we think)" to the "Hand-me-Down Clowns", in reference to its two HW team members.

Do you want submissions, or just modifications of Alphasim's AI?

My guess would be starting with the modifications, before submitting new ones in afterwards.

Can you make it fully Stock?

I've moved to other forums. Under a different name. This is where it all began.

I don't know- I think for the motors and other gubbins of some robots (IE. Chaos 2's flipper, Razer's crushing arm, HypnoDisc's spinner), extra parts will be needed.
