So here is the first bit of concept art for the v2 arena..

Scaling is not worked out yet but the floating blue square up the top is probably around the height of the combat zone roof



There is a bit more to it and what it does this time but im still working on that part..

Ah, cool. Do the walls become gradually lower the longer the match goes on?

I'll definitely have a stab at this. 600.0 kg is an interesting weight limit to play with.

Keeping in mind its not yet to scale..

You see the top of the walls is like the arena in CCIV? well the walls do the same effect as CCIV.. just higher up so only powerful flippers can reach..

Also there is another part involving the big blue floating square that I will get to later..

So its still oota-able just not so tabletop-ish..

Oh I see it's kind of like the dsl blade arena with UHWs because it's oota-able but the roof can get in the way, so it has to be flipped in the right spot. Kind of reminds me of COTT hmmm ;)

It's a bigger small arena  :gawe:

I was tempted :P but no..

It acts just like the upper walls.. when hit by a robot or little cube in the corner (they will be super bouncy this time) it will fall...

Its larger then the lower wall square.. so when it falls it will seal off the arena and make it enclosed..

But dont throw your flipper designs away just yet.. the roof will also deal damage when robots are flung up into it..

Now I just need to work out all the scaling and sizes so everything's nice and even (obviously cant have the roof too low and cant have the walls too high..)

I want DSL HW Hovercrafts! :D
Mostly coz there hasnt been a single tourney that has hovercrafts that I think of :P

It would be pretty interesting, Since I dont think anybody even makes hovercrafts.

I think I like it so much because its basically MW's (my Favorite class) but with more weight to play with..

200kg I see getting sunk into improving a MW design as opposed to making an underweight HW design..

I think the only hax mode retriction you need is no exo stacking. A tournement full of invincible battery armored bots would be no fun to watch at all.
im just waiting for meganerdbomb to come along and kick things into gear.
