DSL3 bug reporting thread
« on: April 02, 2013, 12:09:14 AM »
Report any bugs, mistakes, or oversights in the DSL3 beta here.

So far I've got:

- Colson wheels don't pass through chassis.
- Shiny hub wheel simulation geometry has not been updated.
- Need extra attach points on PC545 and PC625 batteries.
- Test garage features are missing.
- Skirt hinge needs fixing.
- Armor needs to actually be stronger (I don't know what I was smoking when I edited Armor_Definitions.txt).
- Attach points on locking TWM need fixing? (need to look at this)
- Storm burst collision needs fixing.
- BSG collision needs fixing.
- Chew blade attach point is missing.
- Hex plate needs axle attaching.

Known glitches I can't do anything about:

- Tank treads AGOD a lot, especially the small size.
- Axle on piston bursts is sideways before attaching.

Things I did on purpose that might be misinterpreted as mistakes:

- Music is different.  (Songs and placement will probably change on final release.)

NO CHATTER.  Random comments, feature suggestions, questions, and bot showcases will be MERCILESSLY DELETED TO DEATH.

When fighting, robots drive backwards.

This is a side-effect of a more trivial but important change/bug:
The wheel traction (or something) has changed so that all of the wiring has to be reversed for proper function. Where it'd be Clockwise before is now Anti-Clockwise, and vice versa. I haven't tried tank tracks yet. The AI bots haven't been changed in light of this yet, and that's the problem with AI. Or it should be.

EDIT: I realized this shouldn't be the case as I'm playing against stock AI, which shouldn't have any of the modified wheels or motors. That means it is something else causing the wiring to reverse.

"+ Chassis armor is a lot stronger and is on an exponential scale, so heavy armor is more efficient."

They are a lot WEAKER now......  Only steel 10 gets are mere 60:1 ratio common in most DSL2 armor, everything else has gotten a huge nerf.  You should take a look at that if you really intend to make them stronger than before.

It's only a minor thing but the pinion part on the rack and pinion pneumatics is rotated 90 degrees until you place it.

Music seems to play out of order. The DSL2 main theme continues to play in the Team HQ screen, and the Team HQ music plays in the Bot Lab, for some reason.

The default attachment point for the locking TWM3R motor changes from the standard TWM3R motor, creating a vertical misalignment when both sides are used.

The tracks themselves aren't working very well for me either.  The tank tracks visually misalign (collision geometry seems to remain the same) while the oval tracks are off-balanced after one use by invisible/hidden collision geometry. They're both perfect for one use in the bot lab, but not twice, and not when heading straight for combat.

The piston-burst motor is a little underwhelming for it's weight cost imo (all of them).

4 long black ones for the biggest one isn't underpowered at all, right? :P

storm pistons still attach with the center having collision only, similar to the DSL2 npc's

How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

Stantard Motors are slower than they are in DSL 2.1.

Please explain.

None of the motors should be slower... the only thing I did was make a few of them slightly faster.

Sylandro, the wheels are less grippy. That's what's causing the decrease in speed.

For me, at least, the top NPC motor attatchment point goes through the chassis when mounted flush to the baseplate.

I think that is just the visual mesh. If I remember the DSL2 ones did this also. It should not take direct damage because of it.
Also I tried to put your neutron star piece in and the antimatter dose not show up. its in the drop down but when you pick it the component attc window goes away.

some problems:

-hexplates still dont attach to magmotors
-why do hammers have normals? if i went outside and smashed a car with a sledgehammer, the hammer would to damage in just about any direction it hits the car in, isnt this supposed to be a realistic mod?

As far as I can tell, export/import paint template isn't working. It works fine in a few other mods I've got, so I'm thinking it's DSL3 related.
