I'm sure you've all tried this, but I thought I'd give it a go.  Here are some bots I've made from the previews in this thread.  They're not perfect, but it's still fun to use them.

Although recently I've figured out how to use Excel as a sort of poor man's 3DSM.

I use my graphing calculator. Very handy!

I thought you had 3DSM, Megabyte.

Well anyway...

Here are the other 3 Rookies bots you'll be able to drive in DSL 2.0.

LW - Sting Ray 2: A total design overhaul from the original Sting Ray.  SR2 is a thwacker running on NPC-T64's, giving it good speed but keeping it controllable.  It also makes an effective pushybot with its front skirts.  Big, shiny, angled wheels and a wickedly curved tail make it one of the coolest bots in the team.

MW - BOT-CHOY 2: How many people, when they first got RA2 and saw BOT-CHOY in the Rookies team, thought, "OMG AWESOME A BOT WITH DIESECTOR JAWS!!!!" and then tried it out and were like, "Oh..."?  Well, no more.  BOT-CHOY 2's upper spike strip is on a T-Minus Snapper, and can be used for flipping and crushing, much like Diesector.  Its armored, wedgy design and tough 4-wheel drive enable it to bully around almost any bot.  Probably the toughest new Rookies bot.

HW - Walrus: Walrus has been upgraded to a full 800-kg heavyweight, instead of a MW ballasted into the HW class.  It features some powerful E-tek drive, a huge pneumatic ram with 8 spiked clubs, and some heavy 5 mm steel armor with several additional armor plates over it.  If the ram fails, Walrus also has a fairly effective rear wedge for getting under opponents and pushing them into hazards.

Here's another preview... quite possibly the last one

As soon as I have time, I'm going to install DSL 2.0 on my family's other computer to make sure I didn't forget anything.  Then I'm going to get beta testing started.

But for now, some cool new surface layers made by Firebeetle.  These make it possible to make decent skins in the bot lab.  The pics are a bit outdated; that's why the new graphics aren't there.

Gradients, available in red, orange, yellow, lime, green, cyan, blue, magenta, purple, black, gray, and white, in several different styles: circle, inverted circle, square, inverted square, up, down, left, right, and half-width up, down, left, right.  Lots of choices for neat in-botlab skinning.

Tint your current chassis color red, orange, yellow, lime, green, cyan, blue, magenta, purple, black, gray, or white with these nifty color tint surface layers.

This isn't a sneak peek to DSL-TC 2.0 but I wanted to give you something before you get totally bored. I AI'ed my Spike Beetle II and it isn't as good fighter as when I'm driving it but it is surprisingly mean opponent even it looks quite dumb when it is moving. You have to choose carefully your bot against it.

Well... that wasn't much AI'ing, copy and paste few stuffs and then wrote few lines text but still.

So here's the thing. It's a video of Spike Beetles fighting each other. Original Spike Beetle got bit beaten up but it can easily win 2x Spike Beetle IIs against it.

And talk about lack of sparks...    Here you some sparks.

Yeah there happens Havok explosions easily with axle mounts.
And that's why a lot of axle mounts because then the discs will keep their speed up better than just using static weapons on the discs.
