Because there are TWO types of stereotypical English southerner. There is the upper-class posh person, who goes to private school, has a double-barrelled surname, goes hunting every third Sunday of the month and has a butler called Jeeves. Then there is the working-class yob, who goes out drinking at 8 o'clock sharp, wears a baseball cap back to front, has either a single letter or an adjective as their surname, and drives a car that is worth less than its own stereo.
