No... the 1.0.0.4 patch only fixes issues with custom textures. His game must be before some of the earliest patches were released.

Wait.... how would that help? You would need his .exe as well for those to work.

Some RA2 free trial was featured on the KaZaA homepage yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaars ago, I tried it, didn't manage to build a working bot but had some fun playing tabletop games with Forkie anyways, then downloaded Robot Arena 1. Then, after months, I discovered RA2 was still installed and started reading the tutorials, which only got me to a point of: WANT!
So I ordered it on BOL.com (the Dutch Amazon) and from that very moment, hell broke loose..

I do remember though, on RA1, I used a bot with the extra light chassis, using just wheels and one of those saw blades that came down, to make it helluvafast and drive around opponents to kill them with ease.

I found my copy of the game, and now I've reinstalled it.

However, how do I apply custom textures to the components and chassis?

EDIT: And hopefully, once I apply custom textures, maybe I'll make a custom "Tournament Opponent" screen of my robot.

I had a bot that used the cheatbot part switchblade, it beat all the AI.

Man... I wish that there wasn't so much of this game built into the EXE. You really can't mod it at all...

I have the RA1 disc. I got it when it came out. But now the thing is being a pain in the ass... First, my drive wont detect it. Then, it starts installing and at 9% it tells me a file is corrupt or some sh**. Now, it keeps bringing up an error message and the installer won't start at all!

Oh, well. As RFS said "RA1 was a pretty terrible game". Therefore, I'm not too worried about it.

Serge had a DL link for RA1 in his sig, not sure if it's still there...

Also, what a pathetic game. I beat it in under an hour with a bot that had that paralyzing antenna on its top.

I know, know the cheats (# and cheatbot) and you can beat the game without really trying. The only bots I had trouble with were pontoon and Red Giant.
