Nope. H1N1 is an overated, reletivly weak strain of influenza virus. It has caused few deaths in comparison to other strains. People who are young and healthy and still pay for vaccines are wasting their money.

Ah yes, the notorious H5N1 "bird flu". At least for now, we have nothing to worry about from it. It cannot be transmitted from person to person, and is quite rare in humans. The only threat would be if it mutated, which is so far unlikely.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

I'm sick of people treating H1N1 as if it was the plague. Here's a good example: in one of my hour and 15 minute classes, several people got up something like TWELVE TIMES to go and apply hand sanitizer. At that point, more sanitizer is probably more harmful then helpful. I really have to ask: why?

People should worry about things that actually has a good chance of happening, like getting into a car accident.

Quoted for truth.

Our health officials take the thing very seriously... hell, it'll degenerate into a psychosis if it continues like that.

True dat.

Even in here, swine flu deaths aren't a surprise, considering the fact that the most advanced part of the country is also the dirtiest. Even the government suspended our classes for 2 weeks. Which led to rushed lessons. Which led to more rushed homework. Which led to increased stress. Which led to bad grades. >:E

People who are young and healthy are most at risk for this disease. It's still a bit rare, but the disease itself is far from weak.

Risk of catching it, not dying from it or developing serious complications like those in old people or young children. And it is weak. Mortality rates average at around 0.15%. Around 3400 people have thus far died of H1N1, while 800 people a week die of the common flu virus.
Any comments would be appreciated. :D
