Definitely my favourite entry of the tournament so far. Such a simple design but well built and works so well!

I can't remember who, but someone reccomended bandicam, it gets the job done and I'm not trying to win any awards haha. It is set to high output and im exporting the film in the highest resolution from my video editing software so im not sure why the quality is so low... If I ever host something else I'll look into alternatives!

EDIT - quality doesn't seem too bad? You can adjust it to 1080p in the video settings?

The spinning might be due to the wheels not being central or not being perfectly aligned. Or maybe thr throttle is too high... but I would have thought higher would be better for a rammer that's very front weapon heavy like yours. I've had the same problem with some of my rammers if they're packing too much power...

Yes but your game isn't running in 1080p, it's at whatever 2003-tier res you selected in the ingame menu. I have a tutorial in the tutorials section if you wanna put some time into it. If not, just make sure your game is running at 1080p.

ohhhhh. Now I get you. I've just got mine set to 800x600 res and high detail. I like to have a few things open when im recording, so its handy just sticking RA2 in a liil window on it's own haha but that's most likely why the quality isn't up to scratch.

I may well look into your tutorial in the near future, but im fine with how it is for now, I've only got like a week to finish this tourney up so I'd rather stay focused with what little time I have for the time being, cheers though!

I wasn't that happy with my bot as well, especially since most bots have side protection so the spinners can't really get to anywhere, but it seems to work out so far? As for your bot, think that's simply the snapper 2 axles being weak? I've read that attaching them to the back attachment point is better for stability.

In other news, Round 4 is up!

I don't mind 800x600 as long as the encoding isn't bad, but I guess having it with higher resolution would be nice. Also don't change the graphic details, open up ra2.cfg and set graphicdetail=0, this has the high graphics setting but with the chassis rendnering of the low one(don't worry, quality won't be worse) so none of the chassis texture skins will be glitched and you can use trov chassis glitch bots, which would otherwise crash the game.

Bots like Big Disc Club have the AI attack radius lower so it first sets down before starting to spin up(don't worry, this radius is just for spinning up the first time, after that the bot will keep on spinning and never slow down), it lost more that way but could've also been more of a crawler.

Yeah it's definitely a shame. Fracture warned me that it sometimes happened with the AI he supplied, but what can you do?

I also thought it was funny how the match with a couple of the other bots went, yours for example, where he got shunted out almost instantly.

Almost finished editing round 2 in other news.

Thoughts on Round 4:

Yeah, I was quite surprised to see that as well, my bots throwing two OOTA that way.

another OOTA like expected
Vs Big Time Hammer
expected a loss but looks like the wedges worked and Big Time Hammer was pushed up high enough that it wouldn't hit.
Also is it just me or was Big Time Hammer's Flame not working in all of the matches?
Vs Still Sucks
Wedge War and like I expected, I lost it. Gotta find out why the original Snowy had such good wedges(think the front wheels weren't touching the ground?)
Lol at the delayed end and Still Sucks using Snowy to clean up the entire arena.
Vs Tidehunter
Same story, funny how the N12 wheel temporarily stopped the blade.
vs YouWishIWasAGirl
Thought it would be over after the wedges failed to work, loved the double flip and somewhat surprising victory.
Vs Conundrum V5
This bot was originally built to fight Conundrum v5(for a challenge, not this tournament) and while it's wedges worked right it won almost every match. Just me or was Conundrum v5 wobbling around at the start?
If the first wedge fight fails thats where it's usually over, my bot was able to recover a bit but it didn't work out.

Overall, not as good as it could've been with fully working wedges, but still a great performance.

I have amended turn and turn speed from Round 5 onwards, wonder what effect that will have...!

Don't fret! They'll be playing again in conundrums matches. You could see you had the better wedge and when you took my wheel off I thought it was over, was a good match for sure!

Again, a shame for Fracture, but the bot seems very unbalanced. Even when the dics has worked as intended, it doesn't take much of a push to send it into "spikeball" mode.

A surprise for me as well. I thought you wouldn't get under him and the hammer would have field day on your rather large and exposed top side. I hadn't noticed the flame not working before? He linked it to his forward drive control, so it seems to switch off if his bot is still/not pushing forwards (conserves CO2 maybe?).

That's actually happened a couple of times. Even in testing against someone, a ram plate lodged itself between the spinners and it stopped for the entire match haha

A good game for sure. I thought 090901 would steam roll the competition as that flipper is so dam powerful, but it seems the wedges in this tourney are very good!

It did look a bit shakey to me, not sure why? Maybe we can have a challenge after the tournament and settle this once and for all but don't forget they will still play against each other in Round 7...

Overall, not as good as it could've been with fully working wedges, but still a great performance.

I would be happy with that performance. Still plenty of matches to play and you beat some tough bots earning quite a few points so far.

Yeah, not the results I was hoping for - That's why having 2 matches instead of a knockout style can be very different!
