Yoda is no n00b. He has the skills to run a tourney.

Because he made the arcade his female dog?

Well he's got other things going for him:
-He can record and post online just fine.
-Seems like a competent builder (which should reflect potential AI skills as well)
-He does not seem to have advanced stages of ADD

Go for it Yoda!

Edit:
Edit 2:

-Seems like a competent builder (which should reflect potential AI skills as well) it's the 'potential' part that's making me hold off for now
-He does not seem to have advanced stages of ADD just a slight case of lysdexia

Go for it Yoda!

How about all 3 bots must be different bot type?  So no 3 Flail SnS or 3 popups.

Yes, definately a rule there, all 3 must be different bot types.  Will also put a restriction on the amount of flails on any bot...probably extremely low.  These matches can go on forever, i don't want to have to restart due to havocs if i can avoid it.  Thinking 2 flails max per bot.

My original intention was to hold this in the combat arena, but i'm thinking now the dsl tournament arena would be better.  Allows flippers to stand a chance, and can lower the match times significantly.

I like your original idea with the AW/ BW Tag Team. That would be a sweat tourney not so thrilled about the idea if one bot gets destroyed then the you have switch out and replace it seems like it would be to time consuming making all the videos. You should make a poll of the different ideas for this tourney  .

yeah, it's gonna take awhile, no doubt.  But if you guys are willing to watch them, i'm willing to record them.  I got plenty of time on my hands.  get 3 days in a row off of work each week.  If the videos get too long, i could even edit them down to just be 'highlight' videos and do a writeup of the full match.

I actually hate the idea of having to stop the match and restart.  But it's the only way (that i know of) to get the effect.  In a perfect world, when one bot gets eliminated, the new one would just enter the match in progress.  The idea was inspired by the old Survivor Series matches in  WWF(E, whatever).

O I didn't realize you had that much time on your hands, I'm game then  . I'm pretty sure the people that will enter will be very willing to watch all the videos  .

So...Unofficial official rules as it stands currently...

Each entrant makes a team consisting of a LW, a MW, and a HW.  Matches consist of a rumble, starting out with all LW's of 4 teams.  When 1 bot is eliminated, the match is stopped and the eliminated bot is removed, to be replaced by the next bot in the team.  This goes on until 3 teams are eliminated, last team standing wins the match.

16 entrants only
arena will be the RA2 Tournament arena
This will be ran in NarAI v2.2.  All components legal in that are legal in the tourney
No BFE, AAM, etc.  All building must be done in the bot lab.
No cheatbot2 parts, ai parts, or custom parts allowed.
bots must show controlled movement.
No multibots, since they wouldn't work right anyway.
Realistic rule enforced.
each bot in a team must be different types.
A strict limit of 4 flails PER TEAM.
Standard Havok restart rules.
Entrants AI'ing their own bots is preferred, however, i can AI if need be.  But i expect no griping if i don't do it the way you want.

Prizes will be...well, i'm not sure yet.  Sometime this week, i'm going to be working on learning to reskin components.  So, it'll probably be something along those lines.

bracket is as follows

and here's a quick (as quick as something like this can get) video of a match example

SOTF test match part 1.wmv

and since it couldn't be contained in 1 video, part 2
SOTF test match 2.wmv

Further suggestions? Any Gripes?  Anything i've forgotten?
