Stilt Stumble- Signups
« on: November 22, 2016, 03:58:34 PM »
Alright lads I've got a real stupid idea for a tournament

Boring rules
Stock MW
16 entrants
One entrant per person
Double elimination
3 minute fights
No BFE/AAM/other wizardry
1 havok restart allowed before the match is forfeited
No component freedom, RO7 break etc.
Combat arena
Skinned components are allowed
Multibots are not allowed
Robots must show controlled movement
Cheatbot2 banned
My robot:

Gimmick rules
All bots must be stilt bots
Armour will be BFE'd, the only way of winning will be by immobilising your opponent
The bottom of the robot chassis must be higher than or close to the top of a crate
Robots will be counted out with a self-imposed countdown as soon as they lose controlled movement
If no bot is immobilised in the three minutes, the winner will be based on points

Sign ups
1. Fred- Bobyasianboy
2. Spinners From The West- Conraa
3. Salty Sailor 3- Thrackerzod
4. Checkmate- Jamied
5. Built In 2:00:00- Dreamcast
6. Yolo Cannon- Baconus_Yum
7. Cyborg Jake Ruffles 2- 090901
8. Toothpick Fortress- UberPyro

I don't usually play Stock but I might give this a go just for the heck of it.

Updated the OP a bit. Anyone got any suggestions or questions about the tournament? If not I'll just start a poll.

Good attitude to take. It's not a serious tournament and hopefully I can get more of the new guys to try stock since the gimmick puts everyone on a similar playing field. You don't have to be good at stock to build a bot, you just need to think of a creative way to outplay your opponent.

so are hs and vs allowed considering that they'll probably just spike ball around when they lose their stilts and go against the cheap moment rules

Fair point. I don't want to be banning weapon types so I could probably just do my own self-imposed countdown from the point when a bot loses controlled movement.

This is now a signups topic and the rules quoted may not change. You've got 3 months. Enjoy :)

I know what i'm making for this one.

What counts as controlled movement by the way? Would spike balling count as a loss of controlled movement?

Spike balling definitely counts as loss of controlled movement. If a robot can no longer control or change direction of travel it has lost controlled movement.
