All you have to do is edit the batsuit file. It's in UI -> botlab. You need something like Paint.NET to edit it properly, though, and it is free.

I've done this multiple times, all I get is a transparent batsuit with a line of static at the bottom.

Have you turned off RLE compression* on the .tga?
RA2 hates that.

You need to save it as a 512x512 .tga file. But don't select Auto-Detect, make sure that 32-bit is selected.

I've cut my deadline before and no one cared. Plus I seriously doubt anyone else wants to join.

We don't know that. Besides, if you already start and someone comes along saying "Hey, I was building something and I was going to send it to you in 3 days when the deadline was", then you've basically screwed them over. I can definitely see why that rule would be there. Just wait until the deadline comes, you're not going to lose out on anything besides a bit of time.

i'd say allow people 1 day to say if they are going to build a bot and close it then.

It's not a new rule, you just had to look for it - I only made it prominent.
