I must say, I'm quite impressed by the arena   :claping

I can see Spike Strips, but what are the other hazards?

So by your rules we can use any DSL components that are not cheatbot2 ?

Tis just a reskinned Containment Cube. Also, the random white boxes and the spikes are black.

You guys didn't even take advantage of the unrealistic point of the tourney.

@SKBT and Madman3

You guys didn't even take advantage of the unrealistic point of the tourney.
That's because you removed any of the actually useful aspects of it; having multiple spinners on a DSL HW doesn't work unless it's like Marty's ones, and they don't need unrealistic. You killed Trinities, which would have been by far the most useful thing to have; I did however make a multibot crawler, but they're banned too.

I banned trinities because I'm still in the beginner stages of AIing and I don't really like the idea of trinities fighting, the concept of trinities never appealed to me, but I'll think about it in the future.

And multibots are planned for another Steel Warzone.

Meh, fair enough. Just bare in mind that there weren't any real advantages to unrealistic here; as I said, 2 kg hypno teeth were available and thus I used them.

I was almost tempted to enter a IRL style bot into this.

It also just doesn't feel right to build something unrealistic in DSL.

Because it's close to standard realistic so we can basically have an un-gimmicky tourney for once.

Wait, what?
Since the rules totally allow all DSL components, and its too late to change it loooooooooooooooool
Anyway, people are used to building DSL realistic bots and it is likely more difficult to think of an effective DSL Unrealistic design.

I just edited Grand Delta to have the 2kg hypno teeth used on the hypnodisk rep spammed on drums instead of minion disks, since they aren't cheatbot or anything.

It's not actually that difficult to make an HS in DSL with 36 10kg weapons, now we have 100cm+ Discs and Side Panels.

But mines has 32 Razors. c: And is properly unrealistic.

All you have to do is edit the batsuit file. It's in UI -> botlab. You need something like Paint.NET to edit it properly, though, and it is free.

I've done this multiple times, all I get is a transparent batsuit with a line of static at the bottom.

We don't know that. Besides, if you already start and someone comes along saying "Hey, I was building something and I was going to send it to you in 3 days when the deadline was", then you've basically screwed them over. I can definitely see why that rule would be there. Just wait until the deadline comes, you're not going to lose out on anything besides a bit of time.

I dunno, ask Nary, he mentioned it on the first page.

It's probably as the AI components that have more realistic counterparts are now usable due to the lack of realistic rule. Since they aren't cheatbot components and aren't banned on the first post I guess they are allowed at your discretion. If you feel like it I can replace it with my sawbot on which the design was based.
They shouldn't be allowed as they ARE cheatbot2 components.
I thought Nary was talking about using Typhoon Flags and Narmour etc...

Bot posted for your convenience;
But is totally not ai'd or unrealistic:P
I still don't know what to build AND be efficient in unrealistic DSL at the same time...
Drums with excessive use of those 2kg hypno teeth. Flatmotors too.

Are you just not paying attention or something ? Cheatbot2 is not allowed !
Oh dang never new that.

Anyway, bot is in this post and stuff. Sorry for my tremendous stupidity there guys, honestly didn't know, though they were just odd DSL components like Typhoon flags.

I seriously don't see how that is a loophole.

No, actually Preytor did said "DSL" not "DSL 2.1".

Meaning this could be any DSL, and we could have any DSL non-cheatbot2 components. Anyone remembers back then, when matilda teeth (among other things) didn't suck ?

Ohh, so that's what you meant. Can see the potential uses, actually.

Unless you've edited your first post it should still be there.

As for the components, we'd need someone with DSL 2.0 to check. I don't as it happens, so I can't use it.

I don't have 2.0 or earlier so I can't check. I imagine click or starcore might still have a copy of the early versions.

preytor hasn't changed the rules. I think that is a stupid loophole tbh, DSL is always taken to mean DSL 2.1.

Stupid Question: What .py does one use for a juggler?

HazCon uses Omni.py, IIRC. The opponent's on top of the robot, so you don't have to do anything too fancy.

If you're having AI issues, you could at least move things along with the Splash if you wanted to. =)

Thanks and I've finished the Splash already
