Rust In Pieces 2 - Splash/Brackets/Videos
« on: June 01, 2010, 12:20:51 PM »

It's here! And it's now COMPLETE!

Just to let you know, the arena walls have a few problems with bots skirts getting stuck, mainly when other bots go OOTA and are bounced back in while the other bots still chase them. This means the implemented rule that if any bot is thrown OOTA, the match automatically ends.

Apologies for the mix of clickable/embedded vids. Can't work them out.

Thanks for making this tournament a ball of fun! :D

Fly High - I've seen some pics of it in action (okay maybe one) and it seems impressive, can score some quick OOTAs.

Timber II - More impressive than the first Timber, I like it but I feat it'll fall victim to some of the flippers in the tournament.

Immunization - Looks scary, not very oiginal though but it will do lots of damage.

Trap Master and Decoy - Another sequel to a CC2 bot, doesn't look that bad, but due to the whole clusterbot rule, I see Decoy getting destroyed.

Reaper Four Power - Its not a tourney without a flail shell spinner I guess lol, I see this doing lots of damage, but due to the amount of flippers here, it might go out but it depends on the ground clearance.

Fire Bowl - Leave it to JB to enter something cool (same to 123STW), could go far.

A Very Big Block - A very big SFTW (in my opinion), big chassis and I can't see it being very effective.

Shiva - Not a fan of that type of defense on the front, but its good enough to score some wins (I'm out then).

F.O.R.C.E. - Not invertible, weapons look like they're too high up, flipper fodder, SFTW? Let's see...

Smooth Criminal - Do the vlad spikes have enough reach? I fear the wheels will come out very quick.

Claymore - The champ is back, and with an impressive bot, DoW but it seems like a worthy contender that's for sure.

Reptilian Strana - Defeated Blade Wave and two Hope HNM that are in NAR AI, what I worry is the legs on the front getting chopped off early in the fight, it might drive to the wall and get itself stuck there.

Sorta Flying is Epic Too - Great, another flipper, how many does this tournament have??

Vertical Influence - Of course...What's the flipper segment on the front for?

Gluttony - Discs for defense and 2 in the middle I'm guessing? I don't see it going far honestly.

Death Star - Epic bot is epic. Most likely to win the wildcard.

Machty Maus (?) - Looks good, but I fear STW will beat this in the wildcard.

Star of Mace 2 - Do the hammers have enough reach, I like the looks of it though.

Roadkill - If its the same as the SHW in NAR AI, half of the front will get knocked out quickly.

Soo many flippers here, I expect loads of OOTAs

its only more chassis Armour, non angled shell panels and an extra flame thrower so there is not need to redo the splash

Too late :P already done it and it's uploading now. Was no problem anyway :) the new version was AIed, not the old one, so there is no need to worry there either :)

Don't care what people think, I'm gonna do some predictions in my own tourney. :P

Fly High - Seems pretty powerful from what I've seen. Could be one to watch.

Timber II - So awesome. Words cannot explain the awesomeness. I hope it'll do well.

Immunization - It's huge and terrifying and fairly stable strangely. I got hopes.

Trap Master and Decoy - In the right circumstances, these guys could do well. Always good to see a cluster.

Reaper Four Power - It's gonna score well, but theres a lot of things that could throw it around.

Fire Bowl - Very cool. Very very cool. I hope it'll do well just cos its so cool.

A Very Big Block - Actually seems fairly effective in marty's tests... not sure on it's matchup though.

Shiva - Cheap armour imo. But seems cool.

F.O.R.C.E. - One of my favourites. Looks nifty and unique. Not sure on it's chances however.

Smooth Criminal - As much as I hate to say it, I think the lack of flails may bring this down...

Claymore - A good looking popup. I like how slick it looks.

Reptilian Strana - Bwaaaaa it's HUUUGE! Love the immensity of it.

Sorta Flying is Epic Too - 4 flippers, could be one to watch,

Vertical Influence - A follow up to the runner up? Seems a good bot. Look forward to seeing it in action.

Gluttony - Looks very cool and has a lot of discs actually. I think there's at least 3 on each motor, and the defense looks so cool. Like it a lot.

Death Star - Powerful. Very powerful. Will do well I think.

Machty Maus - Another of my favourite bots. Practically what I initially thought when I wanted to make Shinigami, I like it a lot. A LOT.

Star of Mace 2 - for some reason I dislike the name. Looks powerful though. Reach may be an issue

Roadkill - Looks cool, may not cope well against the bigger, powerful bots.

If you mean Doomkiller's and Click's bot, they're CC2 remakes.

Hey Craaig, I swear I sent you the version without the flipper segment (it gets caught on the walls). Would it be okay if you removed it?
Any comments would be appreciated. :D

Ack this hasn't gone well I mightve mixed the old and new when making the splash like I did JBs. Ill check and amend if necessary in the morning as I'm about to go to sleep (shattered xD)

Now if I had gotten off my ass and modified Neptune like I said I would, I'd say I would've had a pretty good chance at this.

Oh well, I'll post write-ups on the bots anyway:
Fly High: Like a SHW Second Sentinel it seems.  I’ve had mixed results with skirts as wedges; I wonder if this is a positive one.
Timber II: If the wedges are good then this is a bot to watch out for.
Immunization: It looks able to throw some bots out of the arena, but it will lose against some of the SnSs and wedges.
The Trap Master and Decoy: They should be able to flank and destroy the wedges, but will get owned by the highly-weaponed bots.
Reaper Four Power: The top flails might be too high to be useful against some bots, but it still looks deadly.
Fire Bowl: Whoa that is cool :D!  I can’t say much more really, it’s just so cool!
A Very Big Block: Damn straight: the chassis looks huge. It should be very deadly once it gets under you from the looks of that weaponry.
Shiva: Gay, like his BBEANS entry, but because of this it should be deadly.
F.O.R.C.E.: Creative, but is that wedge good enough?
Smooth Criminal: It doesn’t look like it has enough weapons and the wheels are too exposed.  It still looks like it could give the wedges some trouble though.
Claymore: I can’t seem to find something to say about it, but I bet it’s deadly.
Reptilian Strana: The SnSs will rip off those side stabilizers easily, but it has a good amount of weaponry; it could tear apart some of the wedges.
Sorta Flying is Epic Too: More Powerful than the other flippers, but how well is it powered, and how useful is that middle wedge?
Vertical Influence: It’s well-armored and has a powerful flipper; it should go far.
Gluttony: The weapon looks deadly, I just don’t know about the wedge.
Death Star: It’s dangerous, but lack of invertibility might be an issue if one of the wedges manages to get under it.
Machty Maus: It’s dangerous if it gets under its opponent, but how well can it do that, and how stable is it?
Star of Mace 2: Another deadly SnS, but I’m not sure about the reach.
R04DK1LL: Probably worse than J0Y R1D3, but might be able to trap some of the smaller bots if it has a good wedge.

Too lazy to write up match predictions.  Will do later.

Lol but if a wedge ever get under it it will..... Die.  So I am not worry about invertibility.  It can't take 2 hits from claymore anyway.

PREDICTIONS

Fly High - Not bad at all. Speed, power,wedginess... just have to outwedge it !
Timber 2 - Going to be outwedged by most of the bots... and can it beat the shell ?
Immunization - Solid bot. It's probably gong to get OOTA real fast though.
Trap Master & Decoy - Multibots are dangerous to enter... now can the duo beat the wedges or not ?
Reaper Four Power - Ghey, also going to get trashed by the first popup it will face (maybe the flippers also)
Fire Bowl - Might pull off a Genocide (aka instability fest) if some wedge gets under.
A Very Big Block - Not the worst, but NOT INVERTIBLE and that weapon isn't really the best. Depends of wedge though.
Shiva - The skirt hinge armor isn't as good as my HW, MW and LW versions but still pretty good. Now it depends of the wedge and i don't like at all facing a SnS...
F.O.R.C.E. - Not too bad but still SFTW, it's not fast enough, not wedgy enough and the weapon is too high.
Smooth Criminal - With these weapons, this isn't going to do much damage and is dead if a popup gets under.
Claymore - A very solid popup and a top contender IMO
Reptilian Strana - Not bad, but really too slow and exposed motors... i might lose horribly to this design though because it won't be easy to hit the chassis (my only chance to win because i doubt i can OOTA it).
Sorta Flying is Epic too - Hopefully Somebody is not entering yet another SnS/HS hybrid... I don't really had success with single wedges though.
Vertical Influence - Flipper spam in this tournament... Better than Somebody's but still 1 wedge is an issue.
Gluttony - Tis cool but the weapon is insufficient.
Death Star - No popups in the wildcard means this is going to trash it.
Machty Maus - Going to be outwedged quite fast... is that weapon powerful enough to get consistent OOTA's ?
Star of Mace - Not the best SnS design really... Is that invertible ? Wheels are also somehow exposed.
Roadkill - It's quite cool, but too slow and not damaging enough. It might win a match against the lesser bots, but if not it's going to lose.

Match predictions will come later
