Might give this a go. Pity it's not DSL HW though...I find that that's one of the best things for making cool, realistic robots with. More choice in what you can build effectively, too.

yeah DSL HW is pro tier. Not only you can build original, but you can build efficient, and cool, and everything.
Definitely- DSL IRL is certainly one of my favoured styles for those reasons, particularly in the HW field. Mind you, if it was in fact DSL HW, with a strict emphasis on IRL, I reckon I'd be more relevant to its theme, wouldn't you agree? It's one thing calling it the unofficial Eighth Series of RW, but quite another to have entries that actually look like they could both look good and fight well in real life.

Or at the very least, not having sawblades that fall off at the slightest bit of damage.

Sawblades & some other weapons will be balanced... Ninja discs for example.

it'll probably be rubbish, but i might as well try :P

You are free to build and welcome to try and build for tournaments, but it looks like you're trying to make your bot's entry look frightening.

You can pull this off, but only if you are an elite builder and if the bot, or bot series, is well known enough for winning things, and is therefore dreaded. A good example of this would be InfiniteInertia entering Absolute Chaos in BBEANS5. Hell I'm not even sure even I can pull it off well.

Sawblades & some other weapons will be balanced... Ninja discs for example.

I suggest you make it obvious in the first post, and give the changes made. Because who would think of using sawblades in stock excepted in SFTW replicas ?

It's now sorted out. I'm ready for signups, no retreating back!

(Edit)

Just realised I'm not ready yet, There is still note to add...

(Edit2)

It's added now. Everything should be ready now, Finally

(Edit3)

It seems I'm rushing too much with this. I tested some stuff and realised the components are unbalanced in Alphasim's RWAI pack. (For example, Angle motors are clearly TOO fast)

(Edit4)

Poll added. You can choose will you fight against powerful HW replicas, or easy MW replicas. Up to you.

Wait a minute- if you're using Alphasim's RW Replicas, they'll still probably have all their overpowered parts, which defeats the purpose of having it simply regular stock.

It is true. That's why I'll let you guys decide that. I'm rushing TOO much with my tournament, so I should calm down and do more testing.

It's like entering into Rally competition without testing the car.

Definitely- I'd suggest slowing down a little, and being more careful. Although to be honest, if it were up to me, I'd go DSL HW with a strict IRL rule, and have the RW Replicas fill in the gaps in the brackets.

are you allowed to start your signups thread whenever you want or have you forgotten to make this a "green tick" thread?

jonzu is a major league host so he can start signups when ever he wants
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

Removed the poll... Seemed to be obvious that there won't be Alphasim's RWAI robots... Now I'll do some more testing & does anyone have any rule suggestions?

Here's what I would do-

- DSL Heavyweight, with the IRL rule strictly enforced, like with Blades of Fury or Replica Wars. That way, we'll get designs more in-line with a name like RW Series 8- that both look great and in-line with real designs, and fight realistically. It'll also improve numbers, with far less need for faffing about with advanced building techniques.

- Use the Robot Wars Arena.

- To help with it, also throw in some of the DSL RW Replicas.

- Maybe try setting it out like the RW Heats, depending on how many entrants you get. With a few, you could try the Series 4 format (6 robots per Heat, divided into two First Round Melees), and for more than that, the Series 6/7 format (The same, but with 8 robots per heat).

- A maximum of two Judge/Lifter Motors for flippers, srimechs and things.

Quiet, I'm simply voicing my opinion.

Although, having it Stock HW would be alright too, if DSL isn't possible.

I will move forward with this at some point. All I can say is that I open signups in May/April... So no need to be worried about this dying . =D
