Favorite:  Survival
Why: Because the house bot was designed perfectly to be dominating, but still beatable (congrats SD).  It totally reminded me of Robot Wars when Matilda was actually defeated... or when Sir Killabot was tipped over. Excellent stuff, really riveting.

Almost Favorite: Beat the Box
Why: Because it pretty fun to watch the box get damaged... Next time, make the box have a lot of extenders and useless parts so that we can watch tons of parts fly. I think you should design a bot that has tons of useless crap attached to it and see which bot rips it to shreds first.

Almost least favorite: 2-1 challenge
Something about this round seemed kinda boring. I don't know, just wasnt exciting.

Least Favorite:  Tilt
This challenge depends more on the environment than the actual bot itself.  I'm not a big fan of the tilt arena as it is, mainly because it's a PITA to navigate with most bots. And it ends up resulting in some cheap deaths.   Even though my bot did well on this challenge, I still am not a fan of it.

Hope this helps man

tilt provided 2 of the best moments in the tourney i believe..

1. Sadie's closet retreating from battle.
2. UndeaD using its pop-up weapon to lift itself up from the middle of the tabletop!

thanks for the info, would love more from others too.

anyway here's my fav's.
1.Beat the Box (will get buffed up next time!)
2.2 on 1 (i might change this up next time, maybe 2 very average lws...)
3.Survival (might have hazards or something extra next time!)
4.Tilt (the rounds don't last long enough imo, need to figure out a way to fix it)

You entered an AW with a single spike (Probably chicken drill but still).

These are rammers and they have 3 spikes each including 2 overlapping spikes.

Also:

Favorite = beat the box, the box could be faster though
2nd Favorite = survival, a LW that can beat a decent HW is a rare thing
3rd Favorite = 2vs1, too easy to enter a HS to win that
Least Favorite = Tilt, matches are too quick or too lucky.

EDIT: If you want Ian i can rebuild the box.

1.Survival - challenged the contestants while not killing them too quickly (or at all)
2.Beat The Box - I think the box could have been better but I liked the destruction scattered throughout the arena
3.Tilt - it had the most surprises but didn't really last long enough.
4.2 on 1 - it seemed a little boring compared to the others

This is a very good tourney and congrats to all. I recommend that the next one of these tourneys is MW something, probably DSL.

Also
1:Beat the box :)
2:Survival
3:2 on 1
4:Tilt

Also, are you going to release the bots in a download for us to see?
I built that big robot on that TV show that time

Ok, here some feedback...
1. Will be better, if you rebuild the house bots. As the guys said, and some other updates...
2. Will be better, if you add more challenges. All was good but... I can help you with ideas or bots about this one. These challenges we saw was... just not too highly varied as a game type, there must be a challenges that every bot type will "fear" and "like a lot". So there musn't be a bot type that will preform well in most challenges... as we all saw happaned...
3. Will be better, if you make the scoring system more challenging. Every round must seems that anyone can go on the top of the list...
4. Will be better, if you keep the tournament STOCK, and make the entrant bots at least MW.
5. Will be better, if you make the time limit of the arenas more.
6. Will be better, if you give more registration period, so more people to join. 8 was just not enough for fun...
7. Will be better, if you use the other tabletop arena. This one sux...
I can't think of something more for now...

I think this tourney in the future should be MW like people have been saying but I dissagree with venko by saying it should be DSL as that gives more variety which will help with his #2 point. I also think, Venko, that 8-10 people is just the right amount for this tourney as it is just a quick tourney not a huge one such as BBEANS and RAW. Additionally, think about how many matches Ian will have to record if 20-30 bots entered. An almost impossible task. As well as that I think the round time was spot on! Long enough for the winner to reveal itself, but short enough so the match doesn't get boring. But I do agree with you Venko that a different tabletop arena would be great as that round was far to quick, maybe a custom made one? Finally I'd just like to say thanks to Ian for this tourney as the amount of effort gone into it was amazing to get the whole thing done in around 2 weeks. Very well done Ian and I hope you will continue this event as I thoroughly enjoyed particiapting in it.

thanks for the feedback. seems like the most popular is beat the box and least popular is tilt.

i thought the challenges were varied enough for all bot types to get a fair chance at winning. I will add more challenges next time.

-2 on 1 favored bots with defense and offense (don't worry this will get harder).
-beat the box favored the bots with the most powerful weapons such as spinners and pop-ups.
-Tilt favored bots with a good wedge (in future i hope it will favor bots with powerful drive such as rammers).
-survival favored bots with good defense, any bot with a plow or wedge should last longer then a robot without one.

i actually wanted to keep it lw for a while for a good reason, this type of tournament is suppose to bring out different designs and i don't think we achieved that and i was also planning to bring back the best robots from each season in a champions season.

i hope to have the next season starting up sometime after BBEANS has finished. if you have ANY idea's for a challenge pm me your idea.

i would also love anyone who can make arena's to help out with the custom arena we need for the final round of the tournament.

Well, looking at the sheer scope of how big BBEANS is shaping up to be. It might be a good while before that is finished (I'm thinking about a month).

I will try to think of some good suggestions soon... right now I am too tired to really think about much.

and... Wow... Man Manu spoke a lot of words...  mostly coherently. Bravo!

Back from holidays, i rush on this thread :
First of all, the looking at the video demonstrates your inovative and challenging idea and the big work you've done for us. thank you.
2 vs1 and Beat the box were my favorite.

second : well, i've not been very sharp and my bot (solar) did not shine as much as i expect

Third : HS get the preference, and indeed, they're some of the most deadly, striking in every direction.

Fourth : I do appreciate the paint jobs of Scrap Daddy, Venko. and Jack daniels : pleasant-to-see-bots

Fifth : could you share this bots and their AI ?

Nope. I was watching the unpainted chassis of the bot and was wondering how to paint it... Then i realize that looks like a ghost from pacman and so... But this was just lack of ideas for the chassis paint. I couldn't think for some other "anti-pacman" text so thats why i made this...
