Thinking of entering but do I have to have the Union Jack on my bot considering I'm Northern Irish? Think carefully how you answer this one Helloface.
If you can explain to me in a pm why N. Ireland isn't part of Britain, then sure.

Cause it ain't part of Britain.

Then use the flag of the united kingdom, since it's most definitely a part of that ;)

And to avoid further derailment of the thread, may I suggest we leave it there and if you want to debate it with Helloface, RPJK, go ahead in a PM or such,

Could I enter by ethnicity rather than nationality?
If you were born in another country and moved here then sure, otherwise no.

All AI parts, except for the blatently OP ones should be allowed tbh. Add a little extra creativity for all the people trying to make a good looking bot and something different from other IRL tourneys.
Nobody uses those parts anyways, but if you really want to, then sure I'll do it in a bit.

"Northern Ireland is a part of the United Kingdom"
All I needed to hear. Please put the Union Jack on it, it's really not a big deal.

Since I've been feeling quite useless lately, I'm going to give this another shot. This theme will be like the Robot Wars International series, but with modified brackets and rules. In this tournament, you must represent your own country and put its flag on your robot (there are a few flag packs in the downloads area). The signups will be split into three divisions: USA, Britain, and Other. Each signups category will have a maximum of 8 spots. If you're British, you must have both the Union Jack and the specific country (i.e. Ireland, England, Scotland) flag. You may enter a replica as your main robot.

After the three-week signup period has ended, there will be another one-week signup period specifically for replicas. If you have already entered, you're still eligible to enter a replica. I will allow an unlimited amount of replicas, from which I will pick the most well done replicas. You are allowed to enter as many replicas as you would like, so long as they correspond to the correct signups category.

- This tournament will be in DSL 2.1
- I will be AIing, but I have the right to ask you do do it yourself
- BFE and re-skinning are allowed.
- Nobody can be entered until a bot is received and accepted
- The weight class will be either Heavyweight
- Now that I better understand the IRL building style, it will be much more strongly enforced than before/
- The only glitch allowed is the small chassis glitch.
- Arena hazards will be on
- Bots must pass stability tests. I will never decline a robot due to this without notifying you of the problem to ensure it will be fair; however if anyone complains that a bot shouldn't have gotten past it, they are at risk for a disqualification.
- Walkers and Shufflers will gain a 400kg weight bonus, but at least 300kg must be used on the movement system.
- Matches are 4 minutes long, aside from the Grand Final which will be 2 minutes long
- No custom components
- 1st havok, restart; 2nd havok, your bot is eliminated
- No custom armour
- No Trov Glitching, Hax Mode, or any other unrealistic glitches that enable an advantage.
- Multibots are allowed.
- No titanium sheets attached directly to baseplate (Including half-sheets)
- If a bot is out of control for 30 seconds it is eliminated (if a bot is just randomly bouncing around the arena, in counts as being out of control).
- You have an unlimited amount of upgrades. This means you can send a new robot too, however this all has to happen before signups are closed.
- M.O.E Motor & Judge Bursts are allowed
- Emergency flippers will have a 50% HP boost
- Interchangeable weaponry allowed
-

Format
Each category (USA, Britain, Other) Will have 2 four-way melees. The winners of these fights will be guaranteed a spot in the quarter-finals.

After this, there will be a 3 day vote on which two losers will also be pushed through to the quarter-finals. Incase of three or four way tie, there will be another melee in which the top 2 performing bots will be pushed through. In case of 5 or more way tie, the poll will be reset.

From there it will be a standard single elimination bracket.

Arenas
British Qualifying Arena: Wham's RW Arena
American Qualifying Arena: Battlebox 3.0
Other Qualifying Arena: Combat Arena (heavily increased hazard damage)
Post-Qualifying Arena: BBEANS 2 Arena (no hazards)

Judging
British Qualifying Judging: Damage /20, Aggression /15, Control /10, Style /5
American Qualifying Judging: Damage /15, Aggression /15, Strategy /15, Style /5
Other Qualifying Judging: Weapon Damage /20, Hazard Damage /20, Control /10
Post-Qualifying Judging: Damage /10, Aggression /10, Control /10, Strategy /10, Style /10

Questions, thoughts, and suggestions?

This thread is now a signups topic and the rules above may not change. Good luck!

Do I still really have to put a Union Flag on it? It's a stupid rule and I liked the paint scheme before I added the Saltire.

Nah, I agree. The more I think about it, it really is an incredibly dumb rule.

I know, AI works fine aside from sluggishness.

What do you mean by this? Are the people that complain at risk, or are the robots that are complained about at risk? I'd like some clarification before I go build.

Also, what exactly constitutes a stability test?

I like to play around with bots after AIing with them. If they bounce around out of control after a couple hits too much or havok a lot, I will further test that robot and it will be declined until the bot is fixed or replaced.

As for the disqualification, the people who complain about the robots are at risk.

EDIT: On that note, all bots are AI'd.
