Taka, you withdrawing will not help anything here, it will just add some more work for Jonzu to do.

It's not your fault Jonzu (well, MOSTLY not your fault); the only way you could have found out that you needed to re-download the Small Arena is if you looked in the original Rammer AI v3 thread which is quite old. And the only reason you had Rammer AI v3 in the first place is because I sent it to you for CombatAnts.

That said, technically, you should refilm all the fights that had rammers in them. In Badnik's case the lack of collision lines caused him to perform more poorly than he otherwise might have, but in other cases it could actually help, because the AI will stay out of the fight as it backs into the walls and lets the other bots kill each other.

However that would be a lot of work and we don't want to hold up the tourney longer than we need to so... just do whatever you think is best.

Either way, getting the updated Small Arena for round 2 would be a good idea.

If you decide not to refilm any fights, maybe you could do a first-round loser's bracket involving all the bots that lost in round 1, just to give those rammers (and Breakfast

) another chance?

Can this just get re-done from scratch? Please? I know you don't want to but to be a good tourney host you need to be fair. No one will enter a tourney with an unfair host.

Whoa whoa whoa don't jump to conclusions here. Jonzu isn't unfair, he just unintentionally used the wrong resources.

You might want to fix those matches with rammers, though.

About the brackets, or the AI?

IIRC for CombatAnts the two bots that advanced stayed together; there wasn't any reshuffling of bots, so you could do it that way for consistency. Also it looks that way from the brackets. You really should have decided that before you started the tournament though.

As for the AI, the bare minimum is to get the updated Small Arena. Then you have four choices:

A) Do nothing, continue the tournament as normal since some rammers benefited from the mistake and others were hurt, so it all comes out even in the end.

B) Re-film Badnik's match with the fixed Small Arena. (However, this might be unfair to the other rammers and bots that lost to them.)

C) Re-film all the matches with rammers with the fixed Small Arena (would basically be restarting from scratch since almost every match had a rammer in it).

D) Do a loser's bracket as a sort of consolation to first round losers--those that lost to "cowardly" rammers as well as rammers that lost due to being "cowardly" and hugging the walls.

No matter what you do, some people aren't going to like it, so don't worry about anyone's reactions. Just make a decision and everyone else has to deal with it.

In my opinion, if he redoes one match with the new arena, he has to redo them all. Round 1 is done. Thats it. Round 2 should use the new arena. There should also be a small consolation bracket that uses the new arena as well.

Ok let's get one thing clear, your only chance of winning was via under the radar. Anorak can't KO, and can't score points. I assume that when you say "going good" you meant "surviving" because it looked like you had the fewest points, and the bot with the second-fewest was roughly 2500 ahead of you.
