I'd still go with selecting which bots to use by having team votes on which of their bots is going to be used in the next round. it seems like it would add a layer of strategy to the tournament, which truly make the most use of the team gimmick. It means bots can be used to instantly counter another bot if they think the opponent will use it. A little bit of chance but mostly strategy.
Maybe its an idea for another tournament, but for now, I don't know how to make this work without one team being on top early and the other team basically being doomed.

Sure this is all possible in the current tournament, but having all the match-ups be by chance lowers the possibility of it being 7 vs 1 after the first round.
Having it be 8 and 0 after the first round is literally my worst nightmare for this tournament.

Rather than voting for next matchup, what if each team just selected their next bot to compete, not announce matchups. Early on this wouldn't seem to make a difference, but as the available pool of opponents dwindles it becomes more of a team strategy of which bot to put forward.

1 fight at a time eh?
Well now the coin flip seems possible.
That's definitely something to think about... I'll poll it.

Craaig/Yugitom might wanna hang back on moving this to sign-ups now...

Sorry bout that Craaig.   Anyways the voting is in sway of the match decisions.

Rule change is under the bracket section.

We also have to re-do the vote section, so get yours in.
(Even though we had 15 to 1 at one point, this change is probably too large...)

Edit:  Due to the fact I don't like 1 fights per video style, Team captains now have to choose 4 different robots instead of just 1.  This number will decrease to half of the losing team each round.

This tournament is not under copyright by me.  Feel free to rip-off this in every way shape and form.

(Image removed from quote.)

Please refrain from telling others your team.
Though I cannot stop you from PMing each other, I highly recommend you don't.

So... Where'd I mess up?
This is now a signups topic and the rules quoted may not change. You've got 3 months, have fun :)

And Craaig's Thunder gets stolen back.
(Trust me bud, I didn't ask him; he made an offer, and I accepted)

Anyways, good luck competitors.

Edit: Havok's entry is rejected for not specifying which team he's on.

Edit 2: Accepted now.

Dead Genocide's bot denied (Twice) under the Weak/Impractical rule.

On the other end, jdg37's and Baconus_Yum's bots are accepted.

Just an update that I think I need to address.
Ring Spinners aren't allowed.  I see them as un-IRL and probably Tryhard anyway.
Ring spinners have always just bothered me in how they work.  If you can make it truely spin without going through the tires, I'll allow it.
Thanks and DP FTW.

I haven't seen playzooki's and TGM's entries, but I'm not entirely sure what grounds you can really fault them on when you consider this work of modern art:

as "IRL" enough to use as a byebot.
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

That bot was an experiment for Hypno arms as supports; it seemed IRL enough for me.
As for TGM, he stacked burst motors.
Playzooki just broke the no Joke Bot rule.

In other news Kurt has been accepted.
