Besides, IRL has more viable robot types, like ring spinners, FBS'es HS'es, VS'es, Drums, flippers...  and there may be more I am missing.
Why would you want people to build the viable normal bot types they already do in a tourney that is called "Forced Creativity Challenge"  :dumb)

Edit: A cool idea would be to make it so people would have to make a hybrid between to random bot types, then you would have to be creative with some of the combos.

Is a flipper a weaponless gutripper?

On-topic, cool idea for a tournament, the bot types should 100% be randomly distributed. I think whoever gets flipper will win, assuming flipper ins't given to a total n00b.
also lol at most toxic guy around calling others out on this sh**

That's pretty nifty.

Ye it is, but doesn't really work in IRL. Would be a great idea for a DSL-S tournament

>implying that Stock is any more creative lol
List of viable designs:
-HS
-Gutripper
Now the challenge here is to figure out whether I'm talking about stock or IRL.
>trying to make a sick burn
>basically screwed yourself by mentioning the 2 most overused builds of stock
>top kek

Besides, IRL has more viable robot types, like ring spinners, FBS'es HS'es, VS'es, Drums, flippers...  and there may be more I am missing. IRL in 2.2 isn't just "muh mechavore discs", mate. I'd rather build in something where I can really make good robots and not be forcibly shackled to a specific set of robot types.

Pessimism can make every play style look like garbage. They are as deep or as shallow as you make them.
---------
If you're forcing creativity, why are you allowing the popular bot types? I'd request a single elimination tournament where builders are required to use the same rare bot type each round, but then I'd just be requesting Brawl of the Builders.

Ye it is, but doesn't really work in IRL. Would be a great idea for a DSL-S tournament

What if this evolves into a HW DSL-S Chimera matchup, where each entrant is given 2-3 random weapon systems to combine and submit?

Not gonna lie that would be way beyond my AIing level.

You can AI pretty much any bot type/hybrid with Omni so I think you would be fine

Flipper2 and THZplus basically do the rest.

I would totally download DSL for that. Nary ran a tournament like that once.

It will get back on track once work slows drown.

We have the general style. Which is being assigned 2-3 generic bot types to splice together.  I've been trying to sort out a second assigned category of less damaging elements to assign as well. This would be things like  wedges, cambered wheels, maybe optional 2/4/6 wheel drive etc. that list could be rediculous or write in.  We could also make a big generic list of real world bots, and divide them out for the fusion element which might actually be easier.  Example: you get tombstone and beta and want to put a perm on a beta motor and hope for the best.  I see realism level being pretty loose on this, I'd like to see irl supports to a certain degree, but I also want these things to be off the wall mutant bots if possible.
