For the record, I threw it together in something like 15 minutes specifically to counter Geice's poker. But hey, I'm fine with it basically being an aggro target while Geice backdoors the opponent.
How you make Alarm Clock Pizza is:
Step 1: You buy an alarm clock from the store, and then you have to break it and put it in the sauce.
Step 2: Fold the sauce in 5 slices and put it in the dough.
Step 3: Paint the eggs with a pitcher of a clock showing what time you want to wake up and eat pizza for breakfast.
Step 4: Put the eggs in the dough.
Step 5: Make it flat into a round shape and draw the time you want on it.
Step 6: Put some old steel to prevent other peple from stealing it.
Step 7: Make it flat and cut into 60 slices 1 for each minute in 1 our.
Step 8: Put in the oven set the timer to 30048813.2884 seconds and put the temperature on 'Volcano' setting.
Step 9: If you think it is take to long, then get yor alarm clock and set it to now so that it will ring and you can take it out.
Step 10: Take it out uv the uvin wen it is redy and go to bed. In the morning eat pizza and also eat yor hands bi mistake.

I'm wondering how easy it is to raise the elimination region in the arena. Then again there's no reason why a bot that can't be eliminated should be illegal if the rules did not specify. Where exactly does it get stuck? It seems pretty silly to allow a bot to survive when fully out of the designated fighting region.

Then it can just drive around down there.  It can drive under the arena too - there's no collision on the walls since bots aren't supposed to be there.

I would count that as an arena bug tbh. I believe my not would do the same thing if it landed correctly.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to this.  Seems like the general consensus is to just record the match anyway, so I'll do that later today unless anyone has any better ideas.

I don't do modding but shouldn't it be quite easy to raise the elimination zone up a bit?

I highly advise not editing the arena at this time ('this time' being after matches have already been conducted.) You'd be changing the way certain robots perform (I.e. Mr AS's bot) and you'd be changing the rules without permission. By all means, if you think you can make the case to change the arena, make the case.

I'd consider it fixing an arena bug rather than changing the rules.
I feel like it's an implied rule that bots are eliminated when they exit the arena.

Obviously you run this stuff so I'll defer to your judgement. Can't wait to see how derpy the match ends up.

You would think, but when I was looking at the arena file earlier (to change out the start points), I didn't notice anything clearly labeled "kill_zone" or whatever.  (The start points were labeled "startpoint" or something like that, so those were easy to swap.)

Yugi makes a good point though.

Code: [Select]
def Tick(self):
        for each in self.players:
            if plus.getLocation(each)[1] < 1.5:
                plus.eliminatePlayer(each)
Just increase the 1.5 to some higher value.

We can do a grudge match with the fixed arena if you don't want to change it now.

Not really. The 'rules' for when a robot should be eliminated are inherent in the arena itself. It's just what the arena does and doesn't allow. If Mr AS (or anyone building a robot) built their bot with the specific arena-out zone in mind, it would completely undermine their design. I know that, in this case, Mr AS didn't intend for that (even though he doesn't mind the unintentional result) but if I were to apply this to a future tournament with a similar problem, any given bot builder could have built their bot with the intention of interacting with the arena, so I'll try to keep my decisions consistent.

Update: I've spent about an hour trying to record this match.  I have one usable round so far.

EDIT: Scratch that, zero usable rounds.  This one is too havoky.

I'm really sorry about the delay on this episode.  Between real life, havoks, and game crashes, it was a bit of a pain.  But, here it is:

Here it is!  The final match!

We're not quite done with this tournament yet, though.  I've got a couple of bonus episodes I want to put together for y'all.  Stay tuned for those!

Great tournament Thrack, definitely one of the most entertaining I've watched.
Definitely this. The quality of the robots was really high compared to some of the later tournaments, for some reason.
