@System32 and Somebody- Yeah that's fine. However, this would count as your "1 change left" like the other tournaments. Rules will be clarified on my site later on.

Speaking of the site... Its Up! Here is the website address (Credit to ACAMS for helping me out and  being so kind as to have enough patience as to fix my errors).

I recommend that you add this to your favorites: http://www.elbite.gametechmods.com/

King of the hill

Hello and before all, thank you for this innovative challenge.
For the King of the hill match, will it be 'Hilltop' or 'LumaZone' arena ?

I've AIed my tabletop bot, but the dumbass doesn't cares about the tabletop. He throws and pushesbots OOTA so efficiently that he gets OOTA first! Too fast. I thnk I'm gonna reduce his drive train and bolster his pokers.

It looks real nice, but remember not everybody is on T3.....your RA2GE site took me 35 minutes to load, you may want to leave off all the fancy swirly stuff and make all images .jpg or .png

@Phil - Hey whats up? The arena will be a custom made Lumazone (Not a pure recoloring however, I will edit it's py. file)

@ACAMS- Forgot about that. Got it.

The background was changed from a whopping 151,202 bytes to 2,210 bytes. I don't know if this makes a difference but give it a try. I also kind of like this new background since it makes the words more visible.

AAARGH the LumaZone !1!1!one!

I'm gonna suck hard in the KotH then...

...Wait Giga, the KotH battles are just a duel, or a 4-bot-rumble?

It will be a 4-bot royal rumble. To balance out the weak and strong bots. My advice would be to try to protect/weaponize all the sides of your bot, as it may sometimes try to enter the center backwards.

And I suppose the tabletop is a 4-rumble too?

Awesome.I'll get RAPED in the KotH and possibly in the tabletop, because even if you enter a good tabletop bot the winner is nearly random.

(i'll still give it a try though)

Which strategy do you follow to build your bot ?

At first, i'v tried to build a good tabletop Bot, then, adapt and test it on the king of the hill.

It appears that there's a good part of luck in winning a table top. For now, i try first to build a good 'King of the hill bot' then i will see how to adapt if for tabletop.

There's also the technic to have a very powerfull and specialized bot for a kind of match and then try voodoo magic to influence the chance when it will be selected... not tested that yet.

Quote
the tabletop is a 1 on 1 match.
I've not noticed that ! it changes a lot !

To Gigafrost :
It appears that many people did not AIed their bots.

When the "same" bot have to play in king of the hill (where speed to be the first 'on' is important') and tabletop (where a too excessive speed will let you down),  it may be useful not to have the same AI.

Typically, in tabletop : Radius parameter must be high  and topspeed must be low, in king of the hill, speed must be high, and turn low.

Will you AIed separately the bots ?

I was thinking about that idealolog and will have to say Yes and No. The bots themselves are not a problem to AI, but like you said, an "adaptation .py package" would consist of 2 or three different .py files for one bot to be used in each corresponding tournament.

By all means I will indeed help those who can't AI or edit .py files for themselves, but I would not recommend this for anyone else who has some skill, and the custom .py that you make will kind of give you more or a feel as to how YOU want the bot to act in the arena.

Henceforth, I will only AI 10 bots (first come first serve to the vacant slots). This will include all of your variations for each tournament, however, you will not have a say as to what type of .py I would use; that would be my choice.

The rest of you MUST do your own .py files (or use the stock/DSL ones if you want). I know this is a little tougher on you guys but I think that this is the best way to avoid the "stupid AI" for well built bots.
As for creating them as AI bots. I will only implement the .py file you created into the init.py file and rename its type to what you put in. I am not allowed to alter your AI information in any other way. This means that you may also need to place your smartzones. But of course, you can always ask me for advice.

Editted first page.

UPDATE: Now the Badge you have all been waiting for... The Fire Badge is finally complete.

ELBITE Desc: This is basically your first step in separating yourself from the rest... You are now noticed by the top builders as a potential disturbance. You now have the power of the first Elite Weapon. Use it wisely...

Why so? All you have to do is place/name the smartzone on your bot and wire it appropriately... They have loads of AI tutorials as well. It's good to try something new.
